It was started in July 2001 in the south of Kyoto. Kyoto Shisaku Net(http://www.kyoto-shisaku.com) is a website that provides specialized prototype solutions from part processing to equipment development. It was founded in July 2001 by 10 small and medium sized machinery and metal companies in southern Kyoto Prefecture, based on the concept of “quickly making your vision a reality.” Kyoto Shisaku

Net began as a forum for these companies. The members were all deeply interested in how to grow and improve their business management skills, and began studying together from the book "The Practice of Management" by business guru Peter F. They learned that marketing and innovation are the cornerstones of business and that “customer creation” is essential. After many discussions on how to implement their newly learned concepts, the members decided to redefine obsolete business models and develop an entirely new one that enhanced their strengths. This led to the creation of a new, online business to build customers’ creations. With support from the Kyoto prefectural government and Kyoto Industry 21, an organization providing support for small and medium businesses in Kyoto, a network was built to provide specialized prototype processing solutions. This was the birth of Kyoto Shisaku Net.
