Taking a selfie to remember this journey.
Fighting flower drop in my greenhouse has taught me that farming is not just about planting and harvesting. It’s about observing, learning, making adjustments, and refusing to give up.
Every dropped flower is a lesson. Every new flower is hope.
One day, I’ll look back at these pictures and remember how hard I fought to turn this greenhouse around. The journey continues

FROM A FALLEN STRUCTURE TO A PRODUCTIVE KITCHEN GARDEN
What looked like a forgotten, fallen shade house is now coming back to life.
Instead of demolishing everything and starting from zero, we first looked at what could be salvaged: the structure, the available space, the growing conditions and the irrigation possibilities.
The transformation is not just about making the shade house look good. It is about turning wasted space into productive space.
For a successful kitchen garden, remember these basics:
1. Repair the structure
Make sure the frame is stable and strong enough to withstand wind and the weight of the shade net.
2. Choose the right crops
Leafy vegetables, herbs and other suitable kitchen garden crops can perform very well when the environment is properly managed.
3. Get irrigation right
Consistent watering is more important than simply giving plants a lot of water. Drip irrigation can help deliver water directly to the root zone while reducing wastage.
4. Prepare the growing area
Good soil structure, compost or well-decomposed organic matter and proper drainage give plants a strong foundation.
5. Manage the shade
Too much shade can reduce growth, while too little may expose sensitive crops to excessive heat. Choose your shade level according to the crops and local conditions.
The lesson?
Sometimes you don't need a completely new farm. You need to look at what you already have and see the potential.
A fallen structure can become a food garden.
A wasted space can become productive.
And with the right planning, even small spaces can feed a family.
