Are you looking to register your solar company as a contractor, vendor, manufacturer, or importer in Kenya? The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) requires that you obtain a Class V2 license if you intend to manufacture or import solar PV systems or components.

What does the V2 License mean?

It entitles you to manufacture or import solar PV systems or components. Importantly, the licensee must have, or employ, a Class T2 licensed technician to ensure technical compliance.

Application requirements include:

🔹 Certificate of Incorporation/Business Registration

🔹 Certified copy of VAT/PIN Certificate

🔹 Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from KRA

🔹 Certified CR12 (not older than 1 year)

🔹 IDs or Passports of company directors

🔹 Work permits (Class "G") for foreign directors or notarized exemption letter

🔹 Valid Business Permit from County Government

🔹 Proof of office premises (Title deed/Lease Agreement)

🔹 Licensed Technician’s Consent Letter

🔹 Copy of Technician’s License

🔹 Completion Certificates and Warranty Templates

🔹 Details of Solar PV Design Tools
