Important Phishing Analysis Tools 🔫
1. VirusTotal — URL / file scanner
Paste a link or upload a file to see results from many engines and reputation sources at once. Great for a fast safety check.
2. PhishTank — community phishing database
Search a URL to see whether the community has already flagged it as a phishing site. Useful for quick verification.
3. Google Safe Browsing / Safe Browsing Lookup
Uses Google’s lists of dangerous sites. Helpful for real-time checks and browser protection (also built into Chrome).
4. MXToolbox / EasyDMARC — Email header and authentication checkers
Paste raw email headers to parse them (Received lines, SPF/DKIM/DMARC results). This shows which servers actually sent the message and whether the domain is authenticated. Use MXToolBox or EasyDMARC header analyzers.
5. Have I Been Pwned — breached email check
Enter your email to see whether it’s appeared in data breaches (if the sender claims a login issue, checking breaches helps assess risk).
