KPC Right of Way Sensitisation Roadshow in Kisumu, in partnership with Cape Media, kicked off today at Pump Station 28.

The exercise began with a briefing led by Kisumu Terminal Manager Eng. Charles Sambu and Right of Way and Civil Works Manager Mr. Stanley Manduku, alongside team members Mr. Leonard Ngeny, Mr. Henricus Ojino, Mr. Joseph Kiprop, and Ms. Norah Mokaya.

The three-day roadshow will engage communities in Kibos, Kudho Primary and Secondary School, and the Usoma area on protecting the pipeline Right of Way and promoting public safety.

Kenya and Rwanda have signed three landmark agreements, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Tripartite Agreement (TPA) and Transport & Storage Agreement (TSA), establishing a Government to Government framework for Rwanda's importation of Bulk Refined Petroleum Products through the Northern Corridor.

The agreements position Kenya Pipeline Company as Rwanda's strategic logistics partner and are expected to increase petroleum throughput significantly enhancing pipeline utilization, storage revenue and regional trade.

The framework also leverages KPC's strategic infrastructure, including the Kisumu Oil Jetty and storage capacity for Rwanda-bound cargoes strengthens KPC's commercial competitiveness.

The maiden cargo (RNEC 001/2026) is expected at the Port of Mombasa between 4 and 6 September 2026, marking the operational commencement of this strategic partnership.

Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC PLC) today hosted the newly appointed Principal Secretary for the State Department of Petroleum, Hon. Kello Harsama, at its Headquarters for an induction engagement with the Company’s Executive team.

The meeting led by KPC’s Ag. Managing Director, Mr. Pius Mwendwa, provided an opportunity to brief the Principal Secretary on KPC’s operations, ongoing infrastructure projects and strategic priorities aimed at enhancing the efficiency, reliability and sustainability of Kenya’s petroleum supply chain.

During the engagement, Hon. Harsama commended the KPC team for its unwavering commitment to ensuring a secure and efficient flow of petroleum products across the country, noting the critical role the Company continues to play in safeguarding security of supply in Kenya and the wider East African region.

He further underscored the importance of operational excellence, innovation, accountability and sustained strategic collaboration in driving the growth of the petroleum sector and advancing Kenya’s broader economic transformation agenda.

The meeting also served as a platform to align priorities between the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum (MOEP) and KPC PLC, reaffirming the continued partnership between the two institutions even as KPC advances its journey as a privatized entity.

The Company remains committed to working closely with MOEP to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable energy transportation solutions while creating long-term value for citizens and stakeholders.
