“New details emerge in the Maldives cave diving investigation…” 🌊🚨
Authorities are continuing their investigation into a fatal diving incident in the Thinwana Kandu cave system in the Maldives involving a group of experienced divers.
According to early reports, diving instructor Gianluca Benedetti was recovered separately near the cave entrance, while other members of the group were later found deeper inside the system. Officials have not yet released a full confirmed explanation for how the separation occurred.
Investigators are currently working to reconstruct the timeline of the dive and determine the environmental and technical factors involved.
Experts familiar with cave diving note that underwater cave systems can be extremely complex, with narrow passages, limited visibility, and rapidly changing conditions that can significantly increase risk even for experienced divers.
At this stage, no final conclusions have been announced, and multiple scenarios remain under review.
