Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP – President & CEO Hoe Chun Kim) announced that, following the contract signature in June last year for the Dukovany nuclear power project in the Czech Republic, the project has now entered full-scale implementation, and key Czech stakeholders have visited Korea. The visiting delegation includes the CEO of the project owner (EDU II) and senior officials from the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, totaling around 40 personnel.

During the visit from April 20 to 24, participants reviewed the overall project progress and key milestones through the main meeting, high-level meeting, and separate working group sessions.
On April 21, the delegation visited the Saeul Nuclear Power Site to tour the nuclear power plants in operation and under construction, directly observing Korea’s operation and construction capabilities.

The Czech delegation is also participating in the Korea Atomic Power Annual Conference (KAP) held at BEXCO in Busan.
On April 22, EDU II CEO Petr Závodský will deliver a presentation on the status of new nuclear construction in the Czech Republic. Tomáš Ehler, Director General for Nuclear Energy at the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, will also deliver a keynote speech and participate in the panel session, emphasizing the importance of nuclear cooperation between Korea and the Czech Republic.
On April 23, Director General Ehler will visit Doosan Enerbility’s Changwon factory to inspect the manufacturing of key equipment such as reactors and steam generators. He will also meet with officials from the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
On April 24, Director General Ehler will visit KHNP’s head office in Gyeongju to further discuss project collaboration.
KHNP plans to further strengthen cooperation with the Czech government and project owner through this visit and ensure the stable implementation of the Dukovany project.

“Through the joint project review meeting, we will further strengthen communication with the project owner and meticulously monitor and manage overall project implementation. We will continue to work closely with our Czech partners to successfully deliver the Dukovany project.”
