On October 24, the 2025 International Energy Transformation Forum opened in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. Chen Guanfu, Vice President of Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina), attended the opening ceremony by invitation and spoke during the high-level dialogue.
In his remarks, Chen outlined PowerChina’s international business and its key role in the global low‑carbon transition, sharing the company’s successful experience in international clean‑energy cooperation. He noted that the Belt and Road Initiative has entered a new phase of high‑quality development, with energy cooperation shifting from ensuring traditional energy security to accelerating a global green, low‑carbon transformation. As a leading enterprise in clean and low‑carbon energy construction serving the Belt and Road, PowerChina will leverage its strengths to advance energy cooperation among BRI countries and jointly speed up the green transition.
The forum, themed “A Decade of Joint Energy Transformation, Innovation Leading a Green Future,” released a series of outcomes including the Suzhou Vision 2030 for Global Low‑Carbon Energy Transition, “China Energy Good Products,” and the Energy Transformation Index Blue Book 2025. It launched the International Zero‑Carbon, Zero‑Waste Cities Development Alliance and held the exhibition “China’s Path of Energy Transformation in the New Era,” showcasing historic achievements, technological innovation, practical applications, and international cooperation in China’s energy transition, laying a solid foundation for pragmatic global clean‑energy cooperation. Over 2,000 representatives attended, including energy ministers, ambassadors to China, leaders and senior delegates from 15 international energy organizations, as well as enterprises, research institutes, and industry associations from 36 countries and regions.
