We proudly present Project D191, a thoughtfully designed 5,100 SqFt contemporary tropical residence that combines modern architectural expression, natural materials, functional planning, and a strong connection with its tropical surroundings.

The architectural style of D191 is primarily Contemporary Tropical Architecture with Modern Vernacular influences. The design moves beyond conventional modern forms by incorporating a prominent pitched roof, deep overhangs, warm timber finishes, textured walls, and generous glazed openings, creating a residence that feels both contemporary and naturally suited to the Sri Lankan climate.

A defining feature is the dramatic double-height glazed façade beneath the pitched roof, allowing abundant natural light into the interior while highlighting the impressive roof structure. Warm timber-toned framing, doors, soffits, and architectural details soften the overall composition and add a welcoming residential character.

The façade balances strong geometric forms with carefully introduced curves, particularly the distinctive rounded upper-level opening. Neutral textured finishes, exposed brick accents, decorative screens, dark framing, and timber elements create depth and visual richness.
Integrated landscaping is another important aspect of D191. Elevated planter beds, tropical greenery, open terraces, balconies, pergola elements, and shaded transitional spaces strengthen the relationship between architecture and nature while supporting privacy, ventilation, and comfortable tropical living.

Carefully integrated warm lighting further emphasizes the roof structure, materials, textures, and landscaped areas.

Project D191 represents a refined interpretation of contemporary tropical living, combining modern geometry, vernacular-inspired forms, natural textures, climate-responsive design, and timeless residential character.
