Overview of IECC* Residential Energy Codes by EnergySmart Institute Online Course

The International Energy Conservation Code or IECC has evolved substantially over the years and influences all types of construction: Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Manufacturing and more. The EnergySmart Institute offers a new online, on-demand course that applies to the IECC Residential Energy Codes, especially the most current versions.

This online course entitled “Overview of IECC Residential Energy Codes” focuses on the residential energy codes at a high level and provides a look at the current methods that are in place to prove compliance to the IECC. EnergySmart Institute announces a new Sampling Course to help launch the new RESNET Sampling Protocols for multifamily buildings.

RESNET has developed a flexible protocol to enable sampling methods to be used when determining a HERS Index number for multifamily projects. This allows for IECC* Energy Code inspections to be performed on less than 100% of units while still ensuring verification of code items for all the units. The new protocol, while flexible, also introduces several options and strict reporting requirements that can seem confusing. The EnergySmart Institute has recently updated their training on the Sampling processes to explain this new option.
