Yesterday at the , Our Country Director Edgar Kapiza Bayani Snr and Head of Programmes Memory Suwedi Mumba , joined Damien Frame and Ealles from / University of Strathclyde for an interactive workshop on โ€œFrom Assumptions to Evidence: Data as the Foundation for Rural Energy Investment.โ€

They explored how data can shape better minigrid investments, from what data we need, who owns it and how it can be shared, to how it can inform investment decisions.

Using , participants identified key factors to consider, including policy and regulation, productive-use enterprises, domestic and social demand, and the importance of anchoring minigrid investments around stable consumers.

Damien and Aran shared practical experiences from the minigrids they operate, while we as Community Energy Malawi-CEM reflected on lessons from our minigrids and joint initiatives with The Challenges Group and Creative Energy under the BEPPs Project funded by Innovate UK
