Johor at the Forefront: Shaping the Next Chapter of Malaysia-Singapore Unity!๐ค๐ป
JOHOR BAHRU, 19 May 2026 โ The Rapid Transit System Link (RTS Link) welcomed the Chief Minister of Johor, YAB Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, following the projectโs continued milestone achievements and steady progress towards operational readiness. The Chief Executive Officer of MRT Corp, Datuk Mohd Zarif Mohd Hashim, received the Chief Minister and provided an overview of the projectโs latest developments and ongoing testing activities.
The visit commenced with a tour of the Immigration, Customs, and Quarantine (ICQ) Complex and the Bukit Chagar Station, providing YAB Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi an up-close view of the projectโs infrastructure and operational preparations. The Chief Minister subsequently boarded the RTS Link train for a special ride to Wadi Hana Depot, offering firsthand experience of the ongoing train testing activities currently underway as part of the systemโs testing phase.
During the visit, the Chief Minister received a comprehensive briefing on the operational readiness and security components within the ICQ Complex. The briefing covered key aspects including passenger flow management, immigration clearance procedures, autogate facilities, as well as extensive testing works being carried out across the ICQ and station facilities. The briefing also included updates on preparations being undertaken by RTS Operations Pte Ltd (RTSO), the operator of the RTS Link service, to ensure a safe, reliable and seamless passenger experience when operations commence.
The visit reflects the continued commitment and collaboration among key stakeholders, including RTSO, in ensuring the successful delivery and readiness of the RTS Link project, which is set to become a transformative cross-border rail connection between Malaysia๐ฒ๐พ and Singapore๐ธ๐ฌ .
