Budget 2027: Solar needs more than panels. ☀️🔋

Malaysia’s electricity demand is projected to reach 148.66 TWh in 2027, with data centre expansion among the key drivers.

Budget 2027 highlights:

☀️ RM1.5 billion centralised solar park for government buildings
⚡ 150 MW allocation under LSS6 for Bumiputera companies
🔌 RM15 billion TNB investment to strengthen the national grid
🔋 Energy storage projects and green financing
🌱 Green technology tax incentives extended to 31 December 2030

The direction is clear: Malaysia needs solar generation, stronger grid infrastructure and intelligent energy storage working together.

TNB domestic users in Peninsular Malaysia, take note. ⚡

From September to December 2026, the monthly electricity bill protection threshold is temporarily raised from 600kWh to 800kWh.

Households using no more than 800kWh per month may receive temporary exemptions from:

✅ AFA
✅ RM10 retail charge
✅ SST

For a household using 700kWh in September, the estimated bill reduction is approximately RM39.

This is an estimated reduction—not the total electricity bill. Normal electricity charges still apply, while future AFA figures remain subject to final confirmation.

Temporary relief helps today. Smarter energy management can help throughout the year. ☀️🔋



西马TNB住宅用户注意！⚡

2026年9月至12月，每月电费保护门槛将暂时从600kWh提高至800kWh。

每月用电量不超过800kWh的家庭，可暂时豁免AFA、RM10零售费及SST。

以9月份使用700kWh为例，预计可减少约RM39。请注意，这只是估算减免，并不是整张电费；正常电费仍需缴付。

短期减免可以缓解压力，长期节省则需要更有效地管理家庭能源。

Dari September hingga Disember 2026, had perlindungan bil dinaikkan sementara daripada 600kWh kepada 800kWh sebulan.

Penggunaan tidak melebihi 800kWh mungkin dikecualikan sementara daripada AFA, caj peruncitan RM10 dan SST.

Bagi penggunaan 700kWh pada bulan September, anggaran pengurangan bil ialah sekitar RM39. Jumlah ini ialah anggaran pengurangan, bukannya jumlah keseluruhan bil.

What Happens to Solar Panels After 30+ Years? ☀️♻️

Thirty years does not automatically mean a solar panel has reached the end.

Many panels may continue generating electricity, although their output can gradually decline over time. Before replacing them, professionals should assess their electrical output, insulation and physical condition.

Depending on the results, a panel may be:

🔄 Reused if it remains safe and functional
🛠️ Repaired if a recoverable component has failed
♻️ Recycled if it is damaged, unsafe or no longer economical

Old panels should not be dismantled, burned or abandoned without proper handling. Responsible solar continues beyond installation.



太阳能板使用超过30年，就一定要报废吗？答案未必。☀️

许多太阳能板仍可能继续发电，只是输出会随着时间逐渐下降。更换前，应先检查发电表现、绝缘状态、裂纹、分层、热点及受潮情况。

根据实际状态，再决定继续使用、维修或专业回收。不要自行拆解、焚烧或随意丢弃旧太阳能板。

太阳能的责任，不应在安装完成后结束。♻️

Adakah panel solar perlu terus dibuang selepas 30 tahun? Tidak semestinya. ☀️

Sesetengah panel masih boleh menjana elektrik, walaupun prestasinya mungkin menurun secara beransur-ansur. Pemeriksaan profesional perlu dilakukan sebelum membuat keputusan untuk menggunakan semula, membaiki atau mengitar semula panel tersebut.

Jangan buka, bakar atau buang panel lama sesuka hati. Pengurusan solar yang bertanggungjawab berterusan selepas pemasangan. ♻️
