Iapetus has a massive ridge running along its equator that rises up to 12 miles high and stretches for over 800 miles. Scientists aren’t entirely sure how it formed—some think it’s a leftover from when the moon spun much faster, while others suggest it could be debris from a collapsed ring. Either way, it’s one of the strangest structures in the Solar System.
