PERANTIM established on 19 November 2018 and also called Malaysian Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MEDMA).

Membership is open to all local registered medical device manufacturers. Local ownership shall exceed 50% equity owned by Malaysian citizens and has a valid ISO13485 certification. Purposes/Objectives:
1) To establish a platform to protect the interests of local medical device manufacturers.
2) To collectively develop local medical device manufacturing into key economic sector and export contribut

3) To work with ministries, government agencies, associations and companies in matters pertaining to medical device industry.

Dialogue on Effects of Middle East Conflict hosted by Minister of Economy, Malaysia.

President PERANTIM attended Dialogue hosted by YB Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, Minister of Economy on “Kesan Konflik Asia Barat”. All issues affecting meddev manufacturers especially Perantim members due to the ongoing war were brought up and discussed in detail as pre-cursor for Majlis Tindakan Ekonomi Negara (MTEN) meeting to be chaired by YAB Prime Minister.

Deputy Minister YB Dato Mohd Shahar and KSU Perbendaharaan Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican also attended with various KSU from various agencies. Thank you Mr Azmy of Osa Technology SB and Nor Fadhlina Binti Saharudin, Director of Shared Resources Division of Muzamal Industries Sdn Bhd who also attended for PERANTIM.

Dialogue on Medical Devices Supplies Chain Disruptions during to Middle East Conflict organised by Medical Device Authority - MDA

President PERANTIM attended meeting hosted by Medical Device Authority (MDA) on Medical Devices Supplies Chain Disruptions during to Middle East Conflict. This meeting is a pre- cursor to Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN) meeting to be hosted by Prime Minister on 7 April 2026

Worsening war & geopolitical instability in Middle East has directly impacted The Malaysian Medical Devices manufactures and exporters. So far this has no end in sight. Some are experiencing rawmat price increase (eg. 40-90% increase in resin price), supplies rationing, delayed/cancelled orders specially from MENA, substantial increase in logistics costs and many others.

To soften the impact, PERANTIM proposed classifying certain rawmat as controlled item under the Control of Supplies Act and welcome subsidies similar to pandemic era like moratorium, wage, relaxation on epf, etc if situation get worse.

MDA also agreed to give immediate temporary approval or expedite products registration for alternative products should the original one’s import are delayed or cancelled.

🌏 Strengthening Malaysia–Brazil Healthcare Collaboration

We are pleased to have successfully hosted the Malaysia–Brazil Medical Device Business Networking Webinar, bringing together Malaysian medical device manufacturers and Brazilian buyers, distributors, and healthcare stakeholders.

The session provided valuable insights into the Brazilian medical device landscape and created a platform for meaningful dialogue between industry players from both countries. It was encouraging to see active participation and discussions focused on exploring new business opportunities, partnerships, and market access.

A sincere thank you to En Amirul Azman Ahmad, Trade Commission of MATRADE São Paulo, Mr Kossi Telou, Accessor Commercial, Embassy of Malaysia in São Paulo, Brazil, members of PERANTIM & participants from Brazil who contributed to making this session a success. Your engagement and willingness to collaborate play an important role in strengthening connections between the Malaysian and Brazilian healthcare ecosystems.

PERANTIM will be organising a webinar titled “Malaysia Medical Devices Meet Brazil: Exploring New Business Opportunities” on Monday, 16 March 2026 at 09:15 PM (GMT+8) via Google Meet.

The webinar will bring together industry stakeholders to explore opportunities for collaboration between Malaysia’s medical device sector and the Brazilian healthcare market.

The initiative aims to enhance awareness of Malaysia’s medical device capabilities while encouraging dialogue and potential partnerships with stakeholders in Brazil.

The session will feature Mr. Amirul Azman Ahmad, Trade Commissioner of MATRADE in Sao Paulo, Brazil, who will share insights on the Brazilian medical device market landscape and potential opportunities for Malaysian companies.

In addition, several Malaysian medical device companies will introduce their technologies and solutions, highlighting the strength and innovation of Malaysia’s growing medical device industry.

This webinar is co-organised with MATRADE Sao Paulo and reflects PERANTIM’s ongoing commitment to promoting Malaysian medical device manufacturers and supporting their international market expansion.
