GRADUATION| Students from five campuses of the Ngato Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) are set to receive their certificates and diplomas at the institution’s second graduation ceremony, taking place in Rundu.

The ceremony celebrates graduates who have successfully completed programmes in Solar Installation, Welding, Office Administration, Hospitality and many other fields.

LEARNER SUPPORT|Thousands of Grade 11 NSSCO and AS learners from all secondary schools in the Kavango East Region, have gathered at Linus Shashipapo and Max Makushe Secondary School respectively, to attend holiday classes.

The free and week long extra classes, form part of the efforts by the Regional Education office, to boost and support learners academic performance in the Region and additionally prepare them for the 2026 final exams.

In 2025,the Kavango East Region was announced as the top-performing Region in Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary (NSSCO) level examinations for full-time candidates by the Ministry of Education.

WATCH: As Petrus Litu, a resident of Muhama Village in the Rundu Rural Constituency and a beneficiary of the UPSHIFT Programme, expresses gratitude for receiving a start-up toolkit valued at N$71,000 to strengthen and expand his agricultural enterprise, Muhama Green Garden.

The UPSHIFT Programme is implemented by the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture (MEIYSAC), through the Directorate of Youth Development in partnership with UNICEF Namibia.

Litu who grows tomatoes, onions, cabbage and other vegetables, said he learned about the programme through radio and encouraged other young people to use the media to seek out opportunities and approach government offices for support where needed.

COURTESY VISIT|The Parliamentary standing Committee on ICT, this morning paid a courtesy visit to Kavango East Governor, Hamunyera Hambyuka.

Sebastian Karupu, chairperson of the committee said, the aim of the committee’s visit is to assess and inspect ICT infrastructure, services and Universal Service Funded (USF)Projects in the Region.
