President Impressed with Progress at Vhungu Vhungu Green Scheme

During her familiarisation visit to the Kavango East Region, the President of Namibia, Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, visited the Vhungu Vhungu Green Scheme, where she expressed satisfaction with the progress made.

She also held a consultative engagement with the scheme’s management and regional leadership, who briefed her on operations and development challenges. The President commended both leadership and workers for their commitment and highlighted the scheme’s role in advancing food security and agricultural development.

Information sharing|The residents from Utokota village in the Mashare constituency, Kavango East region; showed great interest in the Herero-Nama Genocide during the information sharing session.

The session aimed at educating and creating awareness about the newly established public holiday and the history about the Herero and Nama genocide that happened in 1904-1908.

INFORMATION SHARING|MICT Information Officers, this morning visited Rapids 107.7 FM Rundu to sensitize radio listeners about the alarming cybercrime activities that are happening in the country.

During the show emphasis on how ordinary citizens can protect themselves from falling prey to cybercrime activities were shared. The tips shared included, not clicking on suspicious links, verifying information with relevant offices before giving out one’s personal details and reporting suspicious activities to the nearest police station among others.

WATCH|As Agripine Kamwanga from Mashare constituency, narrates her story of how she got scammed after being lured into believing that she had won an MTC competition.

Kamwanga further thanked the Ministry of ICT for bringing cyber crime awareness information to the community. Through this awareness programs, the public can at least gain knowledge, that can help them avoid falling victim to scammers/hackers,said Kamwanga.

Scenes from the cyber security Information sharing sessions, that are being carried out by MICT officials in various constituencies in Kavango East Region.

The sessions are aimed at sensitizing communities about the types of cyber crimes and how they can protect themselves from falling victims to such crimes.

Furthermore, community members around Mashare constituency are encouraged to join tomorrow’s session, taking place at Mupapama village@10am.

FRUSTRATED|Kamutjonga community activist Aron mundanya says, villagers of Kamutjonga are fed up with the slow and unfair compensation process by the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism.

The frustrated community members say, they have given the Ministry of Environment office, located in Mukwe constituency until Friday, 22 May 2026 to ensure that crocodile attack victims receive their full payments. Adding that failure to do so will result in a peaceful demonstration against the office on Monday, 25 May 2026.
