Part 3: He Married Her to Save Her

Chioma and Tunde’s friendship slowly turned into love.

They laughed together, prayed together, and supported each other through everything.

But Chioma’s former groom, Chief Okeke, had not forgotten what happened at the wedding.

One afternoon, Chioma received a letter from a lawyer.

Her hands trembled as she opened it.

Chief Okeke was accusing Tunde of fraud and deception for interrupting the wedding with a fake marriage certificate.

If the case went to court… Tunde could go to prison.

Panicked, Chioma rushed to meet him.

“Tunde… you could get into serious trouble because of me!”

Tunde looked calm.

“I knew the risk when I walked into that church,” he said.

“But why would you risk your future like that?”
He looked into her eyes and said quietly,
“Because the moment I saw you… I knew your life was worth protecting.”

Chioma’s eyes filled with tears.

For the first time, she realized something powerful.

The man who saved her life… might now lose his freedom because of her.

She held his hand tightly.

“Then we will face it together.”

Sometimes love doesn’t start with flowers and romance.

Sometimes… it starts with sacrifice.

Part 2: He Married Her to Save Her

After the wedding was cancelled, Chioma couldn’t stop thinking about the mysterious man who saved her.

His name was Tunde.

But there was one problem.

The fake marriage certificate he showed the church… had to be explained.

A few days later, Chioma met him at a small restaurant.

“You lied in front of everyone,” she said.

Tunde nodded calmly.

“I know.”

“You could get into serious trouble.”

He sighed.

“I saw the fear in your eyes that day. I couldn’t just sit there and watch your life get ruined.”
Chioma looked at him differently now.

“Why would a stranger care that much?”

Tunde smiled slightly.

“Because my sister was once forced into a marriage she didn’t want. It destroyed her life.”
Silence filled the table.

For the first time, Chioma understood why he did it.

Weeks turned into months.

They started talking more often.
At first it was just gratitude.

Then friendship.

Then something deeper began to grow between them.

One evening, while walking together, Chioma suddenly stopped.

“Tunde… what if that lie we told in church…”
He raised an eyebrow.
“…becomes the truth?”

Tunde looked at her, surprised.

And slowly… he smiled.

Sometimes, the person who saves your life…
becomes the person you spend it with.

PART 1: He Married Her to Save Her

Chioma’s wedding day was supposed to be the happiest day of her life.

Instead, it felt like a prison.

Her parents had pressured her into marrying a wealthy businessman she didn’t love. They believed money would secure her future.

But Chioma felt empty.

As the ceremony began, her heart beat faster with every word the pastor spoke.

“Marriage is a sacred union…”
She wanted to run. But she felt trapped.

Then suddenly—
The church doors opened loudly.

“WAIT!”

Everyone turned in shock.

A man hurried down the aisle.

The groom frowned angrily. “Who are you?”
The man looked straight at Chioma before answering.

“I’m her husband.”

Gasps filled the church.

Chioma’s eyes widened. She had never seen this man before.

The groom laughed angrily. “That’s impossible.”
The stranger calmly pulled out a document.

“A marriage certificate,” he said.
Whispers spread across the church.

The stranger walked closer to Chioma and whispered quietly so only she could hear.

“I know you don’t want this marriage. I’m helping you.”

Tears filled her eyes.

He had seen the fear in her face before the ceremony and decided to step in.

The wedding was cancelled immediately.

Later that evening, Chioma finally asked him the question.

“Why would you risk everything for someone you don’t know?”

He smiled gently.

“Because no woman deserves to be forced into a life she doesn’t choose.”

What started as a brave lie… slowly became a real love story.
