UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
Song of Solomon 2:4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.
There's no where in the bible, where God gave us a reason why he loved us, his love has no reason or conditions, that's why it's called unconditional love. This is why there is nothing you can do to make God love you more, because if there was a reason or a condition, anytime you meet that condition, his love for you will increase. Just as his love doesn't increase, it also doesn't reduce as well, and because it's unconditional, there's nothing you can do to make him love you any less. Bottom line is, you can't increase/improve or reduce God's love for you, because its in an unconditional state forever, that means he will love you forever no matter what.
You can't be too good that God's love rises, and you can't be too bad that his love fades, his love is eternal just as he is eternal. Your "working for God" is not to God's benefit but yours, there's nothing you will do that will make him love you more or love you less. It doesn't matter if you feel his love or not, it doesn't matter if you want his love or not, it doesn't even matter if you recognize his love or not, he loves you irrespective of what you feel, want, know or accept. Your sinful actions doesn't make him love you less, those acts affect you the sinner and doesn't affect God, he doesn't look at you and see sinner, he looks at you and sees Jesus, and if you like keep sinning, it wouldn't reduce his love for you, but sin reduces you, makes you vulnerable and makes you abuse the grace of God upon your life. The truth is, you can't continue in sin because grace abounds, as you keep renewing your mind through his word, you will soon see that the sin you used to enjoy will become like a smelly trash bin to you. God is telling you about his everlasting love today, so that you can rest in his love, have the assurance that no matter how bad life treats you, know that he loves you and that his love doesn't stop or goes away, he loves you always. Halleluyah, Amen!
