The management of the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO), led by the MD/CEO, Engr. Abdu Bello Mohammed, FNSE, today, August 17, 2026, welcomed the management of Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET), led by its MD/CEO, Dr. Akinola Odeyemi, to NISO’s office in Utako, Abuja.

The meeting brought the two key institutions of Nigeria’s electricity market together in a shared commitment to building a more efficient, transparent and investor-friendly electricity market.

Discussions centred on areas where NISO and NBET can deepen collaboration, strengthen market coordination and collectively address issues that can unlock greater confidence and participation in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.

The engagement underscored a shared understanding that a stronger electricity market requires institutions to work together, align their efforts and pursue common solutions.

The Management of the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) held a National Joint Advisory Committee Meeting with the executives of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) at NISO head office in Abuja on Thursday, 13th August 2026.

The meeting focused on the progress and development of NISO as an organisation, with discussions centred on strengthening collaboration between Management and the Union, promoting staff welfare, and addressing issues critical to the continued growth and effectiveness of the organisation.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views, identify areas of mutual interest, and reaffirm their commitment to working together towards the advancement of NISO and the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
