🌌 Right now you’re moving faster than any car, jet, or rocket — The earth carries you at incredible speeds through space! 🌍💨

Did you know our planet is spinning and racing through space at incredible speeds? 🚀

- Rotation: The earth spins on its axis at about 1,670 km/h at the equator. This gives us day and night. 🌞🌙

- Revolution: At the same time, Earth orbits the Sun at about 107,000 km/h — completing one trip every year. 🌞🌀

We don’t feel this motion because it’s constant and everything around us (air, oceans, even the atmosphere) is moving with Earth.

👉 Next time you look up at the sky, remember: you’re on a planet spinning and zooming through space at breathtaking speeds! 🌌✨

💡 Question for you: Which do you think is more amazing — Earth’s rotation or its revolution? Comment below! 👇

🌕✨ Total Lunar Eclipse Alert — Tonight's “Blood Moon”!

What’s happening: The full Moon is lining up perfectly behind Earth’s shadow—causing a total lunar eclipse, often called a “Blood Moon” due to its deep red glow.

When to watch: The eclipse spans from September 7 to 8, 2025. It begins when the Moon enters Earth’s shadow, peaks around mid-eclipse, and then emerges — the total phase lasts about 82 minutes.

Where it's visible: This spectacle can be seen across Africa (including Nigeria), Asia, Europe, and Australia, provided skies are clear!

Why it looks red: As Earth’s atmosphere filters and bends sunlight, blue rays scatter away, while red/orange wavelengths reach and illuminate the Moon—giving it that beautiful coppery glow.

** Looking Up Tonight:** Find an open spot, face the sky, and enjoy the view—no special glasses needed! Unlike solar eclipses, you can watch this safely with the naked eye.

📸 & Share a photo if you catch the view—let’s share the cosmic beauty across Nigeria! 🇳🇬✨

🌍 Did you know?
Astronauts aboard the International Space Station can sometimes see Nigeria with the naked eye! 🚀✨

From 400 km above Earth, they can spot our coastline, our great rivers, and even the glow of our cities at night. 🌆

👉 Space is not far away — it’s right above us, and Nigeria is part of that view.

🚦 SPEED CHECK!

Motorbike: ~120 km/h 🏍️

Jet: ~1,000 km/h ✈️

International Space Station (ISS): 28,000 km/h 🚀

At this speed, the ISS could travel from Lagos to Abuja 28 times in just one hour! 🤯

👉 The ISS is the fastest human-made object where astronauts live and work, orbiting Earth 16 times every single day. 🌍✨

🌍✨ Did You Know?

Every planet — including Earth — is part of space. 🚀
We often talk about “going to space,” but the truth is that we are already in space! Earth itself is a planet floating in the universe, just like Mars, Jupiter, or Saturn.

The only difference is that our planet has something very rare: an atmosphere, air to breathe, water to drink, and the perfect conditions for life. 🌱💧

👉 Next time you look at the sky, remember: we are not outside space — we are already living inside it.

🔬✨ What is a Laboratory?

For a villager, a laboratory is where the doctor sends you for a blood test to know the sickness troubling you.

For a student, a laboratory is a room with equipment where scientists perform experiments.

But did you know the largest laboratory ever built by humans is not on Earth at all?

It is flying above the sky, orbiting the Earth at 28,000 km/h, circling our planet 16 times every single day. 🌍🚀

This laboratory is called the International Space Station (ISS) — a place where astronauts live and conduct experiments that shape the future of science, medicine, and technology.

👉 Stay tuned as Nigeria in Space & Science continues bringing puzzling knowledge to your doorstep — at no cost but your curiosity.
