A lot of preachers, doctors, engineers, accountants, etc Who left their job and started businesses often fail over time.

You can preach exceptionally well doesn't mean you can own a successful church. The same goes for every profession.

Having an understanding of the specialized expertise employed by a business does not automatically translate into a comprehensive understanding of the business itself that harnesses such expertise.

The technical work of a business and the business that does that technical work are two totally different things.

To succeed in business, you have to have the following skills:

1. Operational skill: this refers to the technical work aspect of the business you are in.

For example as a stylist, you have to know how to style hair.

Even with a delegation mindset, you should be able to tell when your employees are doing the work wrongly.

2. Managerial skill: your business will grow and you'll need to employ professionals to meet up with your customer's demands.

You have to understand how structures are created and managed with or without your presence.

Also learn how to read financial statements, and ensure your books are in order.

3. Entrepreneurship skill: an entrepreneur is a visionary, someone who sees the future with a lot of possibilities and can share his dreams with utmost clarity.

In summary, an entrepreneur dreams about how the world should be, the manager plan and organize the human and financial resources to make the dream fruition while the technician is the executioner who carries out professional work.

You need these three skill sets to succeed in business.

A teaching job is Good, but what about owning a school you call your own?

Becoming an engineer of a company is great but what about being the director of your engineering firm.

Working as a doctor is another nice one, but what about owning the hospital you work?

Look, as a skilled person either in academics or apprenticeship, you have the choice of working for a company or owning a company of your own.

Soon, how long have you been saying that?

Who said it's easy in the first place?

It's not easy to be poor either. I've seen and heard of people that watched their loved ones die, they couldn't help because the money wasn't available.

Do you call that easy?

Struggle all your life working 9 to 5 just to meet up with your family's demands, and at the end of the day, your children lose emotional connection with you.

Do you call that easy?

Man, you need to up your game.

Don't wait for the perfect time to start. Choose a deadline and work towards achieving your goal as much as you can.

Like any skill, Entrepreneurship can be learned and the earlier you start, the more proficient you'd become with time.

For those just starting, this is what you must focus your energy on, in other to start and scale fast.

☘️Learn the technical aspects of the proposed business: you need to first learn the business you want to go into.

Get a mentor, this would save you from losses. Remember this always, every business has a success secret and never go into business with assumptions.

☘️ Learn how to sell: you are not in business if you can't sell.
You should be able to communicate how your product or service can solve your potential client's problem.

This is where you put in extreme energy because the more people that know about your product the higher your chances of selling. Market to as many people as you can daily.

Selling is not negotiable it's a must.

☘️ Get basic accounting skills: This is simply knowing the difference between how much you are earning and how much you are spending.

Get basic knowledge on financial accounting, which include; income statements, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.

Remember the number one rule of money, Never lose money.

AFRICA NEEDS MORE BIG BUSINESSES NOT MORE SMEs.

Sanusi Lamido, the formal Emir of Kano was in his throne room, having a meeting.

Suddenly they heard a scream from a woman in the waiting room.

Immediately, he ordered his servants to usher her in.

The Emir asked her why she was crying. the woman answered and said, her baby has been sick for days, she took the baby to the hospital, and she was charged three thousand Naira for her treatment.

She didn't have the money and decided to ask for assistance from the Emir, As she was waiting for her turn in the waiting room, the baby died.

Dear, Entrepreneurs, we have to wake up and scale our businesses. This is the only way we can put an end to extreme poverty in Africa.

Africans are suffering, this is the reason why some of our youths have chosen diabolical means of making money as a means of survival.

It's time for us to take bigger risks, that will propel massive results worthy of emulation by the younger generation.

It's time for us to change the narrative of African businesses.

Kings and Emeka learned motor spear parts business under the same master.

They graduated the same day and were settled with the same amount.

In the space of ten years, Emaka had owned over six separate stores, and two warehouses, also putting measures in place to start importing from overseas

On the other hand, his long-time friend was still battling with one shop.

KNOW WHEN TO DRAW THE LINE BETWEEN FREE SERVICE AND PAID COMMISSION.

There was this girl I was following on Facebook, I so much liked her post that I couldn't scroll over without reading whenever she posted.

She has mastered the art of speaking through people's hearts by leveraging their emotions.

Just like me, I'm sure most of her followers would pay a significant amount just to get her secret recipe for writing.

But Suddenly the light on her podium went off. She stopped posting content.

A few months went by before she showed up again. In her first post, she apologized for her recent inconsistency, and spoke about how discouraged she was, as she wasn't getting any financial rewards from her effort. A few months later, she went off again.

This is the message I want to pass across with her story.

Most of us are already good at what we do, but the only thing limiting us is our ability to step out of our comfort zone.

To another set of people, they are waiting for that day their skill will be perfect before they can serve it to the world.

The two syndromes mentioned above are dreams terminators, they have killed many great dreams, don't allow yours to fall victim.

This is what you should do in other to be free.

1. Take action: Don't wait for permission or validation from others to pursue your goals. Take initiative and make things happen for yourself. The more action you take, the more confident you will become. Take action even when you don't feel like it.

2. Surround yourself with positivity: Surround yourself with people who uplift and support you. Eliminate negative influences and toxic relationships that bring you down.

Connect with people that have already attained what you are aiming for, it would be easier when they mentor or coach you.

3. Set goals: Set realistic goals for yourself, both short-term and long-term. Break them down into smaller, achievable steps, and celebrate your progress along the way.

4. Embrace challenges: Don't shy away from challenges or difficult situations. Instead, view them as opportunities to grow and learn. The more challenges you overcome, the more confident you will become in your abilities.

5. Practice positive self-talk: Replace negative self-talk with positive affirmations and self-encouragement. Remind yourself of your strengths and accomplishments.

I hope you'd prefer to pay any price for your dreams, rather than allow them to die as a result of feelings that aren't real.
