Fellow installer,
You went for a proper load audit and site survey for a 3-bedroom apartment fans, light points, everything documented.
Then after all that analysis, you recommended a 500W power tank because her budget is low.
Meanwhile, according to what she said, the amount she paid you could almost set up a simple 12V system with a tubular battery that would actually serve her better.
To crown it all you even encourage her to run a sewing machine on it.
And you never thought she could discover the truth in the future.
My brother you are not an installer you are a bandit with a multimeter and screwdriver.
When a client trusts you enough to open their home, share their budget, and rely on your technical advice, you donβt downsize their future just to upsize your pocket.
A power tank is not bad but recommending it when you know a more durable, expandable system was possible within reach is wickedness.
Thatβs not professionalism.
We are installers, not opportunists.
We are energy advisors, not commission hunters.
In a country like Nigeria where people already struggle to invest in stable power, every wrong recommendation sets all parties back.
Every greedy decision kills trust for the rest of us who are trying to build this industry with integrity.
If you squeeze a client today, you may make quick money.
But you lose referrals, reputation, and long-term growth.
Letβs be honest with our clients.
I hope you will come across this message
