Let me make this very clear: In Enugu State, many of us do not want Bola Tinubu for president, and we are determined to exercise our democratic rights and ensure that our votes count in 2027. Our votes must reflect the will of the people, not the interests of any political party or individual.
Peter Mbah may have dented his political image in the eyes of some of his supporters by joining the APC, but despite that decision, I am still willing to vote for him in 2027 because I believe in giving credit where it is due and judging leadership on its merits.
However, my sincere advice to him is this: Focus on securing your own re-election and consolidating your achievements in Enugu State. Do not allow the presidential ambition of any individual to become a distraction from the mandate you are seeking from the people of Enugu.
The political reality is that supporting Tinubu does not automatically mean the people of Enugu will support Tinubu. Our political choices are ours to make, and no party affiliation should be mistaken for the people’s consent.
If Peter Mbah wants to retain the confidence of the people of Enugu State, he must understand that his relationship with the APC should not come at the expense of the people who entrusted him with leadership. He should listen to the people, respect their political preferences, and allow every citizen to make an independent choice at the ballot box.
My vote for Peter Mbah is not a blank cheque, and my support for his re-election does not mean I support Tinubu’s presidency. These are two different political decisions, and he must understand that distinction.
Come 2027, let every vote count. Let the people decide their leaders freely, peacefully, and without intimidation. No political party is bigger than the people, and no politician should take the people’s support for granted.
The message is simple: Peter Ndubuisi Mbah should focus on winning the confidence of Enugu people. He should not risk losing the support of his own people by making Tinubu’s political battle his personal priority. Nigeria must be OK✅.
