A Quality SUPERVISION is not just Riddance of the KNOWLEDGE Acquired via Theory but Also EXPERIENCE Gathered via Field Work.

But Note, there can never be a quality Supervision without having; the basic knowledge, Principles to apply or knowing what to supervise thus, you must have the THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE.

As a Site Engineer, in casting the Slab I take into cognizance; The Mix ratio and Mixture, The workability of the concrete, the vibration at the Beams and Column to avoid Honey Comb, The alignment of the Columns to avoid cranking, The placing of the concrete is done evenly to avoid to much pressure and etc.

In slab reinforcement, many Engineers have wasted their clients Steel bar because of poor Structural design, poor knowledge of Structural design, poor Site Experience etc, leaving their work in the hands of Iron Bender's.

Some don't understand the principle of PRIMARY REINFORCEMENT AND SECONDARY REINFORCEMENT,
ONE WAY SLAB AND TWO WAYS SLAB.

The Cantilever have a way to reinforce it, because TENSION will be experienced at the Top and the steel bar will extend a certain distance to side slab(1.5y).

Reinforcement spacing for the Primary bar and distribution bar can vary, so when you design with software, try design manually also to note some difference.

We will keep learning and gathering experience, cos Construction no dey Finish 😉😉.

PROJECT SCHEDULING

Many persons was asking me how were you able Able to reach this stage of the project(6 Bedroom Bungalow) in 3 weeks and 3 days I 😁😁These are the work breakdown:
- Procurements
-Setting-Out
-Excavation of Trenches
-Foundation Blinding
-Preparation of Column and it's Base then, Standing of Columns
-The Sub structure Block work
-Casting the Starter Column
-Foundation Filling
-Foundation Compaction
-Plinth beam
-DPC concrete Casting
-Block Formwork
-Continuous Column, Beam, Carpentry works.
-Lintel
-Block Leveling Etc

Here is my Answer; It started from School with a Course called CONSTRUCTION PLANNING Taught by Donald Chidiebere Ugwuanyi , SEMINARS, ONLINE CLASSES BY Engr Adeboye Adeyinka Adewumi AND PRACTICALS AND MOST IMPORTANTLY YEARS OF PRACTICAL EXPERIENCES.
I used what is called PROJECT WORK SCHEDULE NETWORK applying Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) as a Project Manager.
I Know the work that should start first, Start at the same time, finish first and finish at the same time, Duration and Resources needed.

REINFORCEMENT
Reinforcement placement and arrangement for any Structural Element is Paramount and needs apt Attention.
1. Understanding the Tension and Compression Zone will influence your calculations, bar size and also Number.
2. Also knowing the Primary reinforcement and Secondary reinforcement.
3. Then, the bar Spacing.
N.B All this varies for (Beams, Slab, Retaining wall, Cantilever etc.)

YOUR RESOURCES
Having RESOURCES (Materials, Man Power etc) is not Necessarily the Most important thing to Actualize your Project but Having the RIGHT RESOURCES.
In this field of Construction, I have seen a client, very Rich but went for the Wrong Resources.
* Material, Incomplete Steel Rod yet at the price with the complete one, Rebag Cement and the Wrong type of Cement at the wrong time,which will in turn affect Strength and so on. May I ask you? who is your Procurement Manager?
*Man Power, it starts with the Project Engineer, because he must come with his Team, Birds of the same Feather are always alike. The masons, Carpenter, Fitters, Labourers etc, and the cost of Renovation is always far more than the project cost.

Consider in this Inflation you keep on wasting your money and Time, you will get high BP ooo🤪.
