Foundation Procedures

Every building starts from the ground, and the foundation is the most critical part. If you get it wrong here, the whole structure is at risk. These are the standard procedures you should follow:

1️⃣ Site Clearing & Setting Out – Remove trees, roots, and debris. Then, mark out the exact position of the building using pegs, lines, and measurements.

2️⃣ Excavation – Dig trenches according to the foundation design, ensuring the depth is suitable for the soil condition.

3️⃣ Compaction & Hardcore Filling – Compact the soil and fill with hardcore or stones to create stability.

4️⃣ Blinding – Apply a thin layer of concrete (blinding) to give a level surface and protect reinforcement from direct soil contact.

5️⃣ Reinforcement & Formwork – Place reinforcement bars as designed, then set up formwork to shape the foundation.

6️⃣ Foundation Concrete – Pour concrete mix (cement, sand, aggregate, and water) into the trenches.

7️⃣ Curing & Blockwork – Allow the concrete to cure properly before laying the first course of blocks.
