Surface damage: An uneven or sharp roof surface can damage the tank itself, especially plastic tanks which expand and contract with temperature changes.

Poor water pressure: If the tank is too low, gravity will not provide enough pressure, and you will need a water pump.

Safer alternatives
Use a proper stand: Install the tank on a purpose-built stand or platform designed by an engineer. This stand should transfer the load directly to the building's columns and foundation.
