We had the honour of welcoming the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria to the Nexgen Energy Hub on Friday 12th of June 2026.

The visit was graced by the National President, Engr. Chinyere Nnenna Igwegbe, and the Ibadan Chapter President, Engr. Abidoye Yemisi Mercy, alongside other distinguished members of the association.

Our lead engineer walked the team through Nexgen Energy's story, our services, our nationwide reach, and the Techfine product range that powers every solution we deliver.

The conversations that followed were energising. We explored what collaboration between Apwen Ibadan and Nexgen Energy could look like and how members of the association can tap into the growing opportunities within Nigeria's solar industry.

The visit wrapped up with a tour of our facility, giving our guests a firsthand look at our operations, our ultramodern service centre, and the technology we work with every single day.

Every solar salesperson in Nigeria will throw this word at you. If you don't understand it, you will buy the wrong system.

A kilowatt-hour (kWh) is the unit that measures how much energy an appliance uses over time. It is what your NEPA prepaid meter counts. It is what your generator burns fuel to produce. And it is the single number that determines what size solar system you actually need.

Here is what that looks like in real life. A standard ceiling fan running 10 hours a day uses about 0.75 kWh. A 1.5-horsepower air conditioner running 8 hours uses roughly 8 kWh. A chest freezer running all day uses about 3 kWh. Add up every appliance in your home, and the total daily kilowatt-hours is your load, and your load is what your solar system must be designed around.

Not a package. Not a guess. Your actual daily number.
This is why we do a load audit before quoting anything. A system sized without this calculation will either underperform or cost you more than it should. Both outcomes are avoidable.
