YOUR SKILL IS POWERFUL... BUT IS IT ENOUGH?
In 2020, after completing my welding and fabrication training, I started my workshop believing that being good at my work was all I needed.
I was wrong.
For about six months, I struggled to get my first contract. Even after that, I relied mostly on referrals and word of mouth.
Then I asked myself a question that changed my life:
"Why are some businesses getting contracts from companies while many talented artisans are still struggling to move beyond small jobs?"
The answer wasn't that they were more talented.
They were simply more prepared.
They had registered businesses.
They had systems.
They knew how to present themselves professionally.
They understood how companies buy products and services.
That changed the way I ran my business.
I stopped thinking like "just a welder" and started thinking like a business owner.
Today, one lesson stands out:
Your skill can earn you a living, but your business systems can build your future.
