Exploring and - Led by the MD/CEO of REA, ; the Executive Director Rural Electrification Fund (REF), Engr. ; the Head, Nigeria Electrification Programme (NEP), .Akinyelure and the Executive Director, Technical Services, Engr. Umar Abdullahi Umar, the meeting focused on strengthening inter-agency collaboration to enhance infrastructure within Nigeria’s correctional facilities, with a special emphasis on deploying renewable energy solutions.
✅ Our collaboration with the Nigerian Correctional Service aligns with our vision to empower all sectors with clean energy. We are not just providing power; we’re catalyzing transformation across education, health, and security - Abba Abubakar Aliyu.
✅Improved power access would support ongoing educational and vocational training programs aimed at reforming and reintegrating inmates. In our drive to reform inmates and equip them with life skills, stable power is not a luxury, it is a necessity. ℹ️ The REA has sustained its efforts on driving inclusive development and providing energy to unserved and underserved Nigerians nationwide in line with the broader National Electrification Strategy of the Federal Government, which uses data mapping to identify underserved communities. REA’s solarization mechanism, the National Power Sector Solarization Initiative (NPSSI), a presidential program, further focuses on delivering renewable energy to public institutions across the nation.
