THE TRAGEDY OF ASSUMPTION

4. Assumption has broken strong friendships.

5. Assumption has damaged people’s reputations and images.

6. Assumption creates wrong impressions about others.

7. Assumption makes people judge others unfairly.

8. Assumption causes misunderstanding among friends and families.

9. Assumption makes people define others differently from their true personalities.

10. Assumption often leads to unnecessary conflicts and hatred.

11. Assumption prevents healthy communication.

12. Assumption can separate people who genuinely care for each other.

13. Assumption blinds people from knowing the truth.

14. Assumption creates fear, doubt, and mistrust.

15. Assumption can destroy teamwork and cooperation.

16. Assumption makes people react emotionally without verification.

17. Assumption has caused many regrets in life.

18. Wise people do not assume; they ask questions for clarity.

19. Good communication helps to avoid dangerous assumptions.

20. Never allow assumption to destroy valuable relationships and meaningful people in your life.

An Old Farmer writes to his Son who is in Prison:
"Dear Son, this year I won't be able to plant Potatoes because I can't dig the field by myself, I know if you are here, you would have helped me".

The Son writes back,
"Dad don't even think of digging the field because that's where I buried all the money I stole."

The Police read the letter and the next Day the whole field was dugged up looking for the money but nothing was found.

The following Day the Son wrote again,
'Now plant your Potatoes dad, it's the best I can do from here'

Lesson:
You can imprison someone, but you can never imprison their ideas or Wisdom🙏.

It also shows that even when physically constrained, one’s thoughts and actions can influence and bring about change.

𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓

People called him mad-man
but I was surprised when he moved close to me,
He said, “can I ask you a very important question?”

I nodded, in acceptance,
and then,
he asked, “am I a mad man?”

The obvious answer, from a sane person, will be, "no",
and that was what I said.
“Thank you!”, he replied;

then he said,

“just because I don’t see things the way other people do, does that make me a mad man?”

"No", I answered again.

He bent down, wrote “W”,
and asked me what he wrote.
At this point, I was already feeling ashamed,
getting involved in a lengthy conversation with him.

In a hurry to leave, I said “w”,
but I was amazed when he replied to my answer,
“You only see 'W',
because of the angle at which you are looking at it.

If you turn upside down, you'll see “M”;
If u look from the right side, it is “3”,
and looking at it from the left side, it is “E”.

The fact that I don’t see things at the perspective that everyone is seeing it doesn’t make me a mad man, he said. Then he left.

I pondered for so long about this and its application to life.

Because We act, and relate to people, based on the perspective at which we are looking at their situation.

Have you taken your time to look at other possible perspectives?

I then decided that,
before I get angry with, or act against, or judge anyone that has done something unfavourable to me,
I will view it in at least three possible perspectives;
1.my own perspective,
2.his own perspective and
3.others perspective'.

So, before you judge people, before you rage your anger on them, take a little time to view their angle or perspective, and, if you still cannot see a reasonable reason, then you may act REASONABLY .

US Dollar vs NIG Naira: The Real Issues

1. Appreciation and depreciation of currency is not related to race or color or who is the president be it Hausa Igbo or Yoruba. It is basically about production of goods and services and the demand of your products in the world market. A confused country that produces almost nothing will never meet up. Policies only control your currency, not the value of another country's currency against yours.

2. A country where over 500 industries died within 30 years must be stupid to complain of depreciation of her currency. We keep killing local industries and expect policies to make it up. It's a joke sir. Don't use China as an example in depreciating currencies and strong economy. China produces and may attract more export with that strategy unlike Nigeria that produces nothing.

3. A country where someone carried $2+billion simply to be shared is already a doomed one in terms of monetary policy and value. A country that produces Dizeani and Bafarawa who spent billions to appease demons. Money without economic value is an economic poison injected into the system.

4. A country that favours importation over local production is doomed because it creates employment for another country while sacking her own citizens. Some people are working in Michelin and Dunlop somewhere, yet we use the tyre here. Don't tell me principle of comparative advantage here. It's not applicable.

5. A country that exports all raw materials without adding value is shameless to talk of depreciation of currency, to later re-import finished products of that material is the peak of daftness. A bag of cocoa will go for like N1 million but when it is processed it will be worth around N7 million. Even farmers who produce raw cocoa can't buy chocolate.

6. A country that deliberately operate a banking system that gives loans to importers at the expense of local industries is doomed and should say nothing about depreciation. Most of the loans are given to Senators and Representatives, not industrialists.

7. A country that gives loans in billions to agric sector without monitoring & evaluation of such loan on how it gets to the real farmers is a sham. A guy collected over N2 billion agric loan, he bought a Jeep, built a mansion, and use the rest to import processed pork. Meanwhile, local pork farmers are dying here. Is that not a double tragedy, stressing forex and at the same time killing local industries.

8. A country that spend more on a few privileged politicians at the expense of the populace who are unemployed should not talk about depreciation. A country that keeps paying NNPC staff N10 billion as salaries every month when a single drop of petrol was not refined should shut up about depreciation of currency. Crime is rising as value added to the initial failure.

9. A country where it is difficult for investors to register businesses because of the governent officials demanding for bribe. Right from airport, to hotel, to Minister to Governors, investors must give bribe. All these are part of cost of investment. A friend brought investor on estate development just for the State Commissioner in charge to demand 30% of the investment. To see the Governor of a state will cost you N2 million as bribe before you can be scheduled. This is a State as poor as anything.

10. A country where the cost of travelling for treatment abroad by officials will build world class hospitals should not talk about naira against dollar parity. Money taken to that trip is part of stress on forex.

11. A country where few people have access to federal reserve and those few can get loans,not because of what they can produce, but because of the connection they have - is that country not gone already?

12. A country where we import what we produce because it's cheaper over there is gone.

13. A country that has arable land, teaming idle youths and still complain of hunger should not talk about currency depreciation. It's annoying.

14. A country where free money flows can never control inflow and outflow of forex. Imagine someone who wants to hide his loot went to _bureau-de-change_ to buy dollars worth $50 million just to hide it in the basement of his house. That money has no economic value yet it deprives Companies that need it to import raw materials. Those Companies go to that same _bureau-de-change_ to buy forex at exorbitant price.

15. A country where a strong bank owner can influence shares from within Stock Exchange room to inflate their shares worth from N20 to N150, crash the same share to N30 and ready to buy it back at N28 all within a year. Forget it, currency will never appreciate in such economy.

16. A country where banks are involved in round tripping and inflated cost to siphon money is doomed. A Company wants to import caterpillar worths $50,000. A bank made the forex $550,000 meanwhile no caterpillar was imported, yet the money faded into private accounts. Who strain forex in that case?

*As governor, I was on call 24/7 sometimes.*
*I got very angry and could take my anger on anyone.*

*So, my chief of protocol bore the brunt one day.*

*I had a reception for guests and he placed them in rooms, not the way I would have done it, but he didn’t do anything wrong.*
*He used his own judgment.*

*I would have done it the other way, but I over reacted.*

*While I was doing this, my wife walked in and didn’t say a word.*
*She came in, did some other things in my office and left.*

*He would wait for orders and then you will get irritated at that. You have made him lose his self-confidence and that is wrong. You need to go and apologise to him. Why should you speak to someone like that?* *Because you are governor?"*

*I ignored her, stood up and went into the bedroom, still fuming. As she will always do if she wants to have her way, my wife followed me into the bedroom and went on her knees again to plead the cause of a man as if he had begged her to plead his case.*
*"You have to do it this night and not tomorrow" because I kept saying I would do it tomorrow.*
*Onarie, still on her knees and almost in tears, insisted and said, "No, tonight. That man is not going to sleep well and so you do not have the right to sleep well when he was not sleeping well."*

*Clearly defeated, I got into the car and we drove to his house.*

*His gate man froze when he discovered I was the one. In his confusion, he did not know how to properly open the gate till Onarie told him to take two deep breaths before attempting to open the door again!*

*We were ushered into the living room by an equally confused maid who had to stumble over chairs.*

*His wife turned in.*
*They were about to go to bed.*
*She was in her night gown.*

*She saw me and was scared with the expression of, ‘Okay, you have come to fire my husband finally’.*
*The guy came downstairs, petrified as my wife and I walked into the private living room.*

*I told the guy I came to apologise for my rude and harsh behaviour towards him and I told him am sorry.*

*They all got emotional but I got relieved.*

*It was like a heavy load had been taken off me.*

*I still get upset with things going up wrong, but I don’t get to a point I feel I am too big to say sorry.*
*And am learning to treat people better.*

*You can be referred to as "Your Excellency" today, but, for the best, it will only last eight years.*

*It is not forever!*

*Permanent Sec? It is still not permanent and we all know it's just a title and not a life long position.*

*Life is a stage, a platform for services unto God.*

*So let everyone take heed. Forgive and have regard for Human beings.*

*Moral Lessons.*

*Chose a spouse that have a soft and forgiving heart not a callous one*

*Respect other people's opinion and have a listening ear*

*Have it in your mind that tomorrow is pregnant and no one know what it will deliver*

*Respect women opinions and fine tune it if need be because they are the Architect of our home.*

*Finally never belittle anybody in life because no one knows tomorrow*
