*Latest Top Five (5) Gists From the 34th COREN Assembly Held at the National Stadium, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja From 13th - 15th July, 2026*
1. A mandatory One (1) Year Residency Period, for all Engineering Graduates, in Nigeria, after graduation and before proceeding to the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), is introduced, just like for Medical Professionals;
2. No more posting of Engineers to Non Engineering Firms, in Nigeria and for the purpose of NYSC;
3. COREN has signed a Momeradum of Understanding (MOU), with Engineering Firms, in Nigeria, to accommodate Engineering Graduates of Nigeria for both the one (1) year mandatory residency period and NYSC respectively; and
4. A compulsory *"Continuous Professional Development Programme (CPDP)"* for all Engineers, Engineering Technologists, Engineering Technicians and Engineering Craftsmen and their scoring visa-vis this CPDP and as a condition for the annual Engineering License Renewal - *No CPDP minimum scores! No Engineering License Renewal hence forward*; and
5. COREN has signed both the *"Washington Accord"* and *"Sydney Accord"* respectively, to enable both Nigerian Engineers and Engineering Technologists practice internationally!
