‎ *Put on the Whole Armour of God*

‎ *Eph. 6:10-18*

‎ It should not be strange to any one if it is repeated that in this life, each person will fight battles. The battle is against no other being but the devil and his agents. We are not up against fellow human beings; we wrestle against spiritual beings. The Bible calls them principalities and powers. To fight and conquer, God had made provision for us; He has given us His own armour. God's armour is the only potent weapon that can withstand and conquer the devil. We must learn and master this whole armour for it to be effective. If we use it correctly, the devil will have no space to operate in any area of our lives.
‎ *POINT OF EMPHASIS:* God has released the only potent weapon to defeat the enemy. It is left for you to effectively utilise it.
‎ *PRAYER POINT:* Help me Lord to effectively use the armour You have given me in Jesus' name.
‎ *Reading The Bible Through in a Year:* Morning: Heb. 6; Evening: Prov. 1-3

‎ *Fix Your Eyes on the Unseen*

‎ *2 Cor. 4:16-18; Heb. 12:1-3*

‎ Physical things are always attractive. They are attractive because we can see them. Many people do anything and everything to get physical and material possessions. They do so because this is the way the world rates and respects people. But physical things are temporary; they fade with time. There is another provision that cannot be seen with the physical eyes. The Bible says these are permanent. The irony is, most times, the physical things, though attractive, sometimes blind and distract us from seeing the unseen which are permanent. We need the eyes of faith to see beyond the physical, those things God has provided to serve us forever.
‎ *POINT OF EMPHASIS:* You cannot fix your eyes on both the seen and the unseen at the same time
‎ *PRAYER POINT:* Lord, help me to train my eyes to see only the unseen while You make provision for me in Jesus' name.
‎ *Reading The Bible Through in a Year:* Morning: Heb. 5; Evening: Ps. 149-150.

‎ *DAILY DEVOTIONAL READING*

‎ *Μon. 18/5/2026*

‎ *Love Not the World*

‎ *Gal. 2:19-21; 1 Jn. 2:15-17*

‎ The world refers to the values, systems and ways of life under the influence of sin and Satan. It also represents the mindset and culture that rejects God's authority, selfish desires, pride, greed and immorality. A person cannot agree with the world and still be on God's side at the same time. The Bible says anyone who wants to be the friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. To be free from the world, it is necessary to go through the Cross. At the Cross, we become converted and become like Christ. We can then live a life free of the world but patterned after Christ.
‎ *POINT OF EMPHASIS:* The Cross makes the difference between living for the world and living for Jesus.
‎ *PRAYER POINT:* Father, help me henceforth not to live for the world but for Christ.
‎ *Reading The Bible Through in a Year:* Morning: Heb. 4; Evening: Ps. 147-148.

‎ *Multiply Your Impact*

‎ *Matt, 28:18-20, 2 Cor. 9:6-11*.

‎ Studying the illustration of the Vine and the branches in John 15 and the parable of the Sower in Matt. 13 make us realise that the fruit of a tree or a branch can be increased. While some bear 30 percent, some others bear 100 percent with the same level of investment. One of the ways the Lord expected His disciples to multiply their impacts was to move from their Jerusalem to the utmost part of the world. They would never have made maximum impact if they had remained at Jerusalem. We can do the same. God expects us to be global brands that will affect souls both home and abroad. We can begin in our respective Jerusalem but must have the uttermost part of the earth in mind.
‎ *POINT OF EMPHASIS* The mandate from the beginning was not only to be fruitful but to multiply (Gen. 1:28)
‎*PRAYER POINT:* Lord, help me to multiply my productivity to the maximum in Jesus' name.
‎ *Reading The Bible Through in a Year:* Morning: Heb. 3:7-19; Evening: Ps. 144-146.

‎ *Sat. 16/5/2026*

‎ *Bear Fruit In Season and out of Season*

‎ *Ps. 1:3; Jer. 17:7-8*.

‎ Once a man has fulfilled the conditions listed in Ps 1:1-2 (separation from sin and delighting in the law of God) and Jer. 17:8 (trust in the Lord), bearing fruit becomes seamless. God intends to take us to the point where we will continuously bear fruit for Him. Even at our old age, God desires that we will still be fruitful and productive (Ps 92:12-14). The older a tree is, the better and sweeter its fruits are. Run away from what God hates and do what He desires and you will be amased at the exploits you will make for the Lord.
‎ *POINT OF EMPHASIS:* Bearing fruit for God is easy if you can run away from what God hates and do what He desires
‎ *PRAYER POINT:* Lord, let Your desire for me to bear fruit at all times come to pass in Jesus' name.

‎ *Pruned for Growth*

‎ *Jn. 15:2; Heb. 12:10-11*

‎ In Agriculture, pruning involves selective removing of a part of a plant or tree (i.e. branches, buds, or roots) to improve the tree's health, structure, appearance, or productivity. Pruning is a difficult and painful process for the tree. A major part of its component is removed. As painful as the process is, the vinedresser knows that the tree has to go through it for it to be productive. God takes each of His children through this process. He knows parts of our lives that must be painfully removed for us to be productive. All we need to do when we are being pruned is to trust God and be submissive; God has our interest at heart.
‎ *POINT OF EMPHASIS:* When God takes you through pruning process, know that He has your interest at heart
‎*PRAYER POINT:* Lord, help me to trust and be submissive to You when You take me through my pruning process.
‎ *Reading The Bible Through in a Year:* Morning: Heb. 2; Evening: Ps. 138-140.

‎ *Produce Spiritual Fruit*

‎ The fruit of the Spirit is one of the major fruits God expects from each of His children. This is one of the reasons the Holy Spirit was poured out. As the Spirit of God dwells in us, He will help us produce fruit that will reflect in our characters and lifestyles. The lifestyle of someone who has come to receive the Holy Spirit must be different from the lifestyle of those who have not received Him. We cannot claim to have known Jesus and have the Holy Spirit and still remain the same way we were before knowing Him. Each person who claims to have known Jesus must check his or her life based on this reality.
‎ *POINT OF EMPHASIS:* Your life after knowing Jesus and receiving the Holy Spirit must be different when compared to your previous life.
‎ *PRAYER POINT:* Lord, help every area of my life that is not reflecting that I have received the Holy Spirit in Jesus' name.

‎ *Abide In Christ*

‎ *Jn. 15:1-8; Ps. 1:3*

‎ For a tree to germinate and live to its fruitful stage, one major thing it must do is to constantly abide within the fertile space it was planted. Once this is guaranteed, the tree will go ahead to yield its maximum fruit year on year. Any tree that fails to abide will not only be barren; it will die with time. As believers, the Bible likens us to trees (Ps. 1:3) and branches (Jn. 15:5). One common factor to a tree and a branch is that they are perpetually attached to either the soil or the main tree (the Vine). The fertile "soil" and "tree" we must abide in to be alive and be fruitful is the Lord Jesus Christ. This is not optional for us, it is mandatory. The sap and nutrients necessary for our living, growth and fruitfulness are located in no other person but the Lord Jesus.
‎ *POINT OF EMPHASIS:* The sap necessary for your living and fruitfulness is located in the Lord Jesus
‎ *PRAYER POINT:* Lord, help me to keep dwelling in You forever in Jesus' name

‎ *Seek Spiritual Strength*

‎ *Eph. 3:16-19; Col. 1:9-11*

‎ Life's trials and temptations do not come to believers alone; the people in the world also face them. These two, coupled with the consistent fight of faith by believers, can sometimes drain them. A delayed answer to prayer or the period of waiting on God can also bring a believer to his knees without strength. But strength can be drawn from either the knowledge of the will of God about what we are going through or the place of prayer. Such prayer is not that of a defeatist but of a more than a conqueror. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Ps. 46:1). A few minutes of prayer in the Spirit can make a big problem look small.
‎ *POINT OF EMPHASIS:* Come boldly to the throne of Grace; help and strength await you there.
‎ *PRAYER POINT:* I receive the strength of God for my weakness in Jesus' name.

‎ *Pray With The Spirit's Guidance*

‎ *Rom. 8:26-27; Jude 20*

‎ The prayer that receives an answer from God is the one in line with His will. The will of God can be presented to us in His written word (the Holy Bible), His voice (inner witness in our heart) and through His servants (other believers). The Holy Spirit is described in the book of Romans as the one who knows the will of God. So, whenever we pray with His help, He overcomes our limitations with regards to certain issues about which we find it difficult to read, hear or perceive what the will of God is. He makes us pray the will of God concerning those issues so that we can pray rightly and accurately to receive answers from God.
‎ *POINT OF EMPHASIS:* Your spirit can be guided by the Holy Spirit in prayer, just surrender to Him.
‎ *PRAYER POINT:* Holy Spirit, help my limitations in the place of prayer.
