Something happened the period our Janitor didn't report to work.
Everyone reported that week but time for sign in had passed but we didn't see her.
However, she's always the first person to report to the office.
You can never beat her time.
But that day, everyone was surprised not to see her early as usual.
Our staffs and engineers called but her number wasn't connecting.
When our MD came in, we told him and he also placed a call but he got same response.
He aaked the HR to reach out as well but to no avail.
Through out that week, we didn't see her and trust me, her absence was deeply felt. The office was not looking like it at all, you know what I mean.
The following week, she came and her presence was so obvious. Everywhere felt her touch and from the entrance, you would know that she was present.
That incidence made us realise something as a team that, EVERYONE IS IMPORTANT.
You cannot outdo the importance of anyone in any organisation.
They make things easier and ensure their responsibility is done at its optimum.
The same way you treat the boss, you ought to treat the janitor because they are both important to ensure the vision of the organisation is achieved.
