In March 2022, the Felicity Ace caught fire and sank near the Azores, sending thousands of high-end cars to the ocean floor. Among its cargo were some of the world’s most coveted brands Porsche, Audi, Bentley, and Lamborghini a fortune in luxury swallowed by the sea.

The wreck has since become one of the Atlantic’s most haunting modern shipwrecks, capturing imaginations with its mix of wealth, tragedy, and mystery. What lies inside the sunken holds now gleaming symbols of status or corroding relics of desire?

But the story carries a darker side too: concerns about leaking fuel, batteries, and materials that could harm fragile marine ecosystems. The Felicity Ace stands as a reminder that even the pinnacle of luxury is no match for the power of the ocean and that human ambition always carries risks when set against the deep.

ORDINARY SEAMAN ( O/S ) 👷😁🌊⛴️⚓
Main Duties :
1. Assist the Able Seaman (AB) and Bosun – Helps with deck maintenance, cargo operations, and other seamanship tasks.
2. Deck Maintenance – Chipping, painting, cleaning, and greasing equipment to prevent rust and keep the ship in good condition.
3. Watchkeeping Duties
On bridge watch: assists the officer of the watch by acting as a lookout or helmsman (steering the ship under supervision).
On deck watch: checks moorings, gangway security, and performs routine rounds.
4. Cargo Handling – Assists during loading/unloading operations, securing cargo, and handling mooring lines.
5. Mooring Operations – Helps with ropes and wires during berthing and unberthing of the ship.
6. General Housekeeping – Cleaning accommodation areas, passageways, and assisting in galley or storerooms if required.
7. Maintenance of Lifesaving & Firefighting Equipment – Assists in checking lifeboats, lifejackets, fire hoses, and other safety gear.
8. Learning Role – OS is considered a trainee deck rating, so part of the duty is to gain skills and experience to qualify as Able Seaman.
9. Emergency Duties – Participates in drills (fire, abandon ship, man overboard) and follows instructions during emergencies.
In short, an Ordinary Seaman is the entry-level deck crew, mainly supporting ABs and Bosun while learning seamanship skills for career advancement.🌊⛴️⚓😎
