OGITECH RECTOR APPLAUDS STAFF DEDICATION, PUSHES FOR STRONGER INSTITUTIONAL GROWTH

The Rector of Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Dr. Abiodun Babatunde Oluseye, has commended members of staff for their unwavering dedication and commitment to the advancement of the institution, while calling for sustained support and collaboration toward achieving greater milestones.

Speaking during the congregation meeting held on 14th April, 2026, Dr. Oluseye, who presided over the meeting, thoroughly highlighted and reviewed the progress made so far by the institution, while also outlining the future growth strategies.

In his address, the Rector expressed profound appreciation to the members of the Congregation for their collective effort which had driven the achievements recorded under his administration. He emphasized that the progress made so far was a reflection of unity, shared responsibility, and a clear sense of purpose among the staff.

“I remain fully aware that I could not have done this alone,” he stated. “Every achievement recorded so far has been made possible because we chose to work together with focus and purpose.”

Dr. Oluseye reiterated the importance of congregation meetings as platform for inclusive governance, noting that open dialogue and direct engagement with staff play a crucial role in strengthening decision-making processes. He stressed that the Management of the Institute remains committed to listening to concerns, addressing challenges, and aligning expectations for the overall growth of the institution.

The Rector also provided updates on some ongoing infrastructural developments and innovation-driven initiatives within the Institute. These included the upgrading of academic facilities and the integration of modern technological systems designed to improve both teaching and administrative efficiency. According to him, these efforts are geared toward creating a more conducive environment for learning, research, and professional excellence.

Stressing the institution’s vision, Dr. Oluseye stated that the administration remains focused on building a standard institution that commands pride locally and globally. He remarked that achieving this vision requires consistency, cooperation, and a strong belief in the mission of the Institute by all stakeholders.

In his closing remarks, the Rector urged members of the OGITECH community to remain united and actively engaged in the institution’s development journey. He expressed confidence that with sustained synergy and commitment, the Institute was well positioned to attain greater heights in Nigeria’s academic landscape.

REGISTRY WORKSHOP: OGITECH HOSTS MAIDEN EVENT TO BOOST ADMINISTRATIVE EFFICIENCY

Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa (OGITECH) recently hosted the maiden edition of its Registry Workshop, themed "Contemporary Higher Education Registry: The Imperatives of Reskilling and Upskilling". The event, held from March 31 to April 3, 2026, brought together registry staff from various higher institutions in Nigeria.

The convener, Mrs. Sakirat Olajumoke Johnson, described the workshop as a landmark initiative aimed at strengthening the administrative backbone of higher institutions. She emphasized the need for continuous professional development, citing the evolving landscape of higher education driven by technology, policy changes, and stakeholder expectations.

OGITECH Governing Council Chairman, Chief Ayotunde Odulaja, commended Mrs. Johnson and Rector Dr. Abiodun Oluseye for their efforts in driving the institute's growth. Dr. Oluseye stressed that a weak registry would hinder administrative coordination and service delivery, emphasizing the need for registrars to update their knowledge and skills.

The workshop featured insightful sessions by experts, including Dr. Omojola Awosusi, former Registrar of Ekiti State University. OGITECH RECTOR EXTENDS EASTER GREETINGS TO CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY

The Rector of Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa (OGITECH), Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, has extended warm congratulations to the Christian all over the country on the occasion of Easter celebrations.

In a statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the Institute, Mr. Adebayo Gbadebo, on Thursday, 2nd April, 2026, Dr. Oluseye commended the Christian community for completing the Lenten period which commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
He urged Christians to reflect virtues such as self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace, emphasizing the significance of love, forgiveness, and solidarity in building a harmonious and cohesive society.

OGITECH SETS PACE WITH REGISTRY WORKSHOP ON RESKILLING AND UPSKILLING

The Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, has successfully hosted its 1st Annual Registry Workshop, marking a landmark in the institution’s commitment to administrative excellence and capacity development.

The workshop, held from March 31st to April 3rd, 2026, at the Prince Dapo Abiodun Twin-Lecture Theatre, brought together registry professionals, administrators, and stakeholders from across higher institutions in Nigeria.

In his address, the Rector of OGITECH, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, reaffirmed the critical role of the Registry in the success or failure of any higher institution. He described the Registry as the “life-giving source” of institutional administration, responsible for preserving institutional integrity and ensuring the effective implementation of policies and decisions.

The Rector noted that the effectiveness of any institution is largely dependent on the strength and competence of its Registry, stressing that staff must continuously develop their skills to meet the demands of modern administration. He added that the workshop aligns with the institution’s commitment to regular capacity building initiatives for its workforce.

The Chairman of the Governing Council, Chief Ayotunde Odulaja, commended the Rector, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, for his leadership in driving the institute's growth and development. Chief Odulaja affirmed that the Council remains committed to supporting all institutional initiatives, such as this inaugural Registry workshop. Themed "Contemporary Higher Education Registry: The Imperatives of Reskilling and Upskilling," the Chairman enjoined the entire staff to make judicious use of this opportunity to upgrade their skills and deliver excellence in their respective roles.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Acting Registrar and Convener, Mrs. Sakirat Olajumoke Johnson, described the workshop as a landmark initiative and a strategic step toward strengthening the administrative backbone of higher institutions. She emphasised that the Registry remains central to institutional effectiveness, serving as the hub for academic processes, records management, and policy implementation.

Mrs. Johnson highlighted the need for continuous professional development, noting that the evolving landscape of higher education, driven by technology, policy changes, and stakeholder expectations, demands that registry personnel embrace reskilling and upskilling. She encouraged participants to take full advantage of the workshop as a platform for learning, collaboration, and professional growth.

The workshop, themed “Contemporary Higher Education Registry: The Imperatives of Reskilling and Upskilling,” addressed the urgent need for adaptability in an era shaped by technological advancement and evolving generational dynamics.

Participants were exposed to insightful sessions facilitated by seasoned professionals and experts in higher education administration, including the keynote speaker, Dr. Omojola Awosusi, a former Registrar of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, alongside other distinguished resource persons.

The event also attracted dignitaries, including the Principal officers of the institution, traditional rulers led by the Oloja-Ekun of Igbesaland Oba Abdul-Azeez Oluwatoyin Akinde and members of the academic and administrative community.

The Rector commended the planning committee and the Acting Registrar for their dedication in ensuring the success of the workshop, while also appreciating participating institutions for supporting their staff’s attendance.

The workshop featured a series of lectures, interactive sessions, and group discussions aimed at enhancing professional competence, fostering innovation, and strengthening institutional processes.

Participants were encouraged to actively engage, share experiences, and apply the knowledge gained to improve service delivery within their respective institutions.

The highlight of the event was the recognition and award of three distinguished individuals for their outstanding contributions and unwavering support toward the growth and development of education. The honourees included Pastor (Mrs.) Funmilayo Bolanle Adeleke, the Asiwaju Onigbagbo of Ota Awori Kingdom; Engr. Olatunji Akinosi, FNSE, Member of the House of Representatives; and Hon. Yusuf Kamorudeen Olawale, Personal Assistant on Special Duties to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Their recognition underscored the Institute’s appreciation for impactful leadership and commitment to educational advancement.

The successful hosting of the maiden edition of the Registry workshop consolidates the Institute's culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence within the Registry system of OGITECH and beyond.

A NEW DAWN AT IGBESA: OGITECH GOVERNING COUNCIL HAILS RECTOR'S ‘DIVINE’ TRANSFORMATION AGENDA

​It was a day of accolades and reflection at the Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, on Thursday, 26th March, 2026, as the Governing Council poured glowing encomium on the Rector, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, for what has been described as a radical and rapid transformation of the institution.

Speaking during a facility inspection held as part of the Council’s statutory meeting, the Chairman, Chief Ayotunde Ola Odulaja, expressed profound amazement at the pace of development under the current leadership. ​"Dr. Oluseye is a round peg in a round hole," Chief Odulaja remarked. "His appointment was nothing short of divine, and the results we see today are a testament to his vision and commitment."

The inspection tour highlighted several landmark projects that have redefined the landscape of the campus, and enhanced the academic experience of students. Chief among these is the newly unveiled OGITECH Career Development Center, a unit that has become instrumental in linking graduates with top-tier industrial roles across Nigeria.

The Rector’s "Development Agenda" has also birthed several other key infrastructural projects including the following:
The Robotics and Innovation Center, positioning the institute as a leader in emerging technologies
​Obanla Multipurpose Hall, which also houses modern staff offices
The OGITECH Water Factory, a strategic initiative designed to boost the institution’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR)
The TETFund sponsored world-class institutional library alongside additional classrooms and specialised laboratories.

In his response, Dr. Oluseye remained humble, attributing the institution's successes to divine grace and a synergy with his workforce. He praised the staff of OGITECH, whom he described as "ready to sojourn on this transformation journey" with him.
The Rector further extended his gratitude to the Governing Council, noting that their undoubtedly belief in his vision provided the necessary foundation for these achievements.

Beyond physical structures, the Council noted that OGITECH has successfully bridged the gap between theoretical learning and industrial application. Several multinational corporations are now collaborating directly with the Polytechnic, ensuring that graduates are not only employable but are actively sought after to build a more secure economic future for the country.
