❌ Myth: "You should wait until your fuel tank is almost empty before refilling."

✅ Fact: That's one habit you should avoid.

Driving with a nearly empty fuel tank can actually shorten the life of your fuel pump. In many modern vehicles, the fuel pump is cooled and lubricated by the fuel in the tank. Running too low on fuel repeatedly can cause it to overheat and wear out faster.

It can also:
⛽ Allow dirt and debris from the bottom of the tank to circulate through the fuel system.
⛽ Increase the chances of getting stranded unexpectedly.
⛽ Be inconvenient during fuel shortages or long traffic jams.

💡 Best Practice: Try to refill your tank when it reaches ¼ (25%) full instead of waiting for the fuel warning light.

A little planning today can save you from expensive repairs tomorrow.

Many Nigerians have the mindset of, "If everyone is buying it, that's what I should buy too." There's nothing wrong with choosing a popular model, but it's always worth looking beyond the badge and considering overall value.

We once had a client who came to us looking for a 2005 Toyota Corolla. After taking the time to explain the pros and cons, we recommended a 2008 Honda Civic instead. She trusted our advice and decided to go with the Civic.

Fast forward a few years, and she still thanks us for that recommendation. She has enjoyed the car, found the maintenance costs surprisingly affordable, and discovered that genuine replacement parts were easier on her wallet than she expected.

The interesting part? One of her friends owned a Corolla and kept noticing how reliable the Civic was, how affordable it was to maintain, and how it delivered fuel economy comparable to the Corolla. Eventually, that friend brought her Corolla to us, sold it, added a little extra money, and upgraded to a 2009 Honda Civic.

The lesson? Don't buy a car simply because everyone else is buying it. Buy the car that best fits your budget, maintenance expectations, and lifestyle. Sometimes, the best value isn't the most popular choice. 🚗
