For many, the Abuja City Gate is more than a structure. It is the first impression of the nation’s capital, a landmark woven into the story of Abuja itself.

As renovation works move steadily toward completion, the renewed form of the iconic gateway is beginning to emerge, shaped by precision and a shared commitment to excellence. The progress achieved so far reflects what is possible when vision, expertise, and partnership come together in service of national development.

A vision decades in the making, now a defining link in Lagos’ transport network.

Conceived over 20 years ago as a lasting solution to congestion within the Ikeja–Ojota corridor, the commissioning of the Opebi–Mende Link Bridge marks a defining milestone in Lagos’ urban mobility journey. Delivered by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, this 4.52-kilometre link bridge and its approach roads cut across challenging swampy terrain to unlock new connectivity between Opebi, Mende, Maryland, and Ojota.

Commissioned on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the project is more than infrastructure, it is a strategic response to the realities of a growing city. At its core, this project reflects what is possible when long-term vision meets technical expertise and strong public-private collaboration, delivering not just a bridge, but a more connected Lagos.

As we conclude International Women’s Month, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc proudly reflects on an outreach initiative that extended the celebration beyond the workplace and into classrooms across Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt.

Driven by the passion and commitment of our female employees, the initiative was further strengthened by the presence of key leaders, including Omonigho Oyoma Brown and Monica Brunner, whose participation underscores the importance of leadership in inspiring meaningful community impact. Through the distribution of educational materials and direct engagement with students, the outreach created moments of connection, encouragement, and lasting value.

At Julius Berger, we remain committed to empowering communities and shaping the next generation, because true impact goes beyond infrastructure; it lives in the opportunities we create and the lives we touch.
