To the Federal Government of Nigeria,
To the Nigerian Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress, and Every Nigerian Worker,
To My Colleagues at Safety Master Limited,

Today, 1st May 2026, Nigeria celebrates Workers’ Day– a day to honour the strength, skill, and sacrifice of the men and women who keep our nation moving.

From the markets of Enugu to the oil fields of Port Harcourt, from construction sites in Abuja to classrooms in Kano, Nigerian workers are the true engine of our economy. Your sweat builds our roads. Your hands feed our people. Your courage powers our hospitals, banks, farms, and factories.

To the Federal Government of Nigeria:
We appreciate your ongoing reforms on minimum wage, job creation, and labour protection. As we celebrate today, we appeal for deeper focus on safe and decent work. Ratifying ILO Convention 190, enforcing workplace mental health provisions, and supporting SMEs with safety compliance will ensure that productivity does not come at the cost of human lives. A safe worker is a productive worker. A protected workforce is a prosperous nation.

To Every Nigerian Worker:
You deserve more than wages – you deserve dignity, respect, and a workplace that returns you home alive and whole, in body and in mind. Long hours, unsafe equipment, harassment, and monotonous work are not badges of honour. They are hazards we must eliminate together. Today, we celebrate you, but we also stand with you. Safety Master Limited’s Commitment this Workers’ Day:
1. We Commit to People First: In 2026, we will launch “Safe Minds at Work” – free psychosocial risk workshops for 100 Nigerian SMEs and unions.
2. We Commit to Standards: We will support 50 factories across Nigeria to achieve ISO 45001 certification by December 2026, because compliance saves lives.
3. We Commit to Advocacy: We will work with government and labour to push for practical, enforceable rules on line speeds, work-rest cycles, and anti-bullying in all workplaces.
4. We Commit to Our Own: Every Safety Master staff will receive annual mental health leave and access to confidential counseling, starting this month.

Today, 28th April 2026, is World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

This year’s ILO theme:
“Psychosocial Working Environments: Protecting Minds at Work”

For too long, “safety” meant hard hats and boots. But what about stress? Burnout? Bullying? Long hours? Poor communication?

A workplace that damages your mind is not a safe workplace.

At Safety Master Limited, we believe protecting workers means protecting both body and mind.

As CEO of Safety Master Limited, here is our commitment for 2026:

1. We Will Train for the Mind: Every course we deliver this year – from HSE Level 1 to ISO 45001 – will include a module on stress management, fatigue, and psychosocial risk assessment. Because hazard ID starts with how people feel.

What are Physical Hazards? 🤔
Physical hazards are environmental factors that can cause harm or injury to individuals. They can be found in our homes, workplaces, schools, and even public spaces.

Types of Physical Hazards:

1. Mechanical Hazards: Machines, equipment, and tools that can cause injury
2. Electrical Hazards: Electrical shocks, fires, and explosions
