Flare Tip Replacement in Offshore Angola!

Another successful project for the Conbit team! In January, we tackled a challenging flare tip replacement in offshore Angola.

With a lightweight, modular rigging system, we executed project with precision, safety, and efficiency, ensuring a smooth operation while minimizing downtime. Every component was carefully designed and assembled to handle the complexities of offshore lifting, where precision is critical, and challenges are constant.

Offshore lifting can be challenging as it requires expert engineering, careful preparation, and precise ex*****on. That's why we believe in The Power of Preparation. By identifying potential challenges and careful planning beforehand, our team delivered a safe, efficient, and well-coordinated operation.

We're proud to push the boundaries of offshore engineering, bringing smart, safe solutions to the most challenging projects.

What a week!

At the beginning of this week, a group of talented student from Fontys in Eindhoven visited us as part of International Project Week. Guided by Tim van Leeuwerden and Maurits van Linder, they are working on a marketing assignment for Conbit, focusing on how to market a knuckle boom crane conversion package to make them run on biodegradable oil.

It is always interesting to collaborate with young professionals who bring fresh perspectives to industry challenges. Sustainability is a key topic in our field, and exploring ways to make heavy equipment more environmentally friendly is an important step forward.

We can’t wait to see the creative solutions they come up with! Don’t forget to follow Conbit for updates on this and other projects in the future!

Successful Flare Tip Replacement in the Gulf of Thailand!

We’re proud to share the successful replacement of the high-pressure (HP) flare tip at the Erawan facility in the Gulf of Thailand. This project, awarded by PTTEP, overcame unique engineering and logistical challenges thanks to the collaboration between Conbit and CR3.

The Erawan facility, located 250 kilometers northeast of Songkhla, comprises six platforms connected by bridges. Replacing the 2.2-metric-ton flare tip, positioned on a bridge accessible only during shutdowns, required meticulous planning and precision.

Key Highlights:
🔹Custom Modular Lifting System – Designed specifically for this project, the system used lightweight, hand-carriable components to navigate the bridge's constraints without heavy machinery.

🔹Efficient Ex*****on – High-speed winches ensured safe and precise handling, minimizing downtime and adhering to tight scheduling requirements.

🔹Expert Teamwork – A skilled crew of flare tip specialists, rope access, and mechanical technicians worked seamlessly to deliver results safely and on time.

This achievement reflects the strong partnership between Conbit and CR3, built over nearly two decades of collaboration in Thailand and the region. In 2024 alone, PTTEP entrusted the team with over five flare tip replacements—a testament to their confidence in our ability to tackle complex projects.
