Reliability is what makes tidal energy work. Great to see this is getting global coverage from AP News!

Turbines that run for years without unplanned maintenance is what the sector needs and what makes it real, not just an idea.

Proteus , SKF and MeyGen have shown it’s possible, and together we are working to turn tidal energy into a reliable, sustainable power source.

Great to see our partnership with SKF highlighted as we collaborate to deliver our AR3000 turbines for the world’s largest tidal stream array at MeyGen. Our 3MW turbines can each power around 3,000 homes.

We’re partnering with Proteus Marine Renewables, the developer of the AR3000 tidal turbine generation system, to jointly deliver a system capable of powering the world’s largest tidal stream array.

Japan’s first underwater, megawatt-scale turbine is officially online.

Japan has taken a major step toward sustainable energy with the successful deployment of its first megawatt-scale tidal turbine, the AR1100, in the Naru Strait.

Developed by Proteus Marine Renewables, this cutting-edge turbine generates 1.1 MW of clean electricity, helping to decarbonize the Goto Islands’ power supply. The project builds on a successful 2021 pilot, demonstrating tidal energy's reliability and potential as a renewable resource. With its advanced modular design, real-time blade adjustments, and seamless grid integration, the AR1100 represents a leap forward in harnessing ocean currents for energy production.
