𝗔 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗶𝗺 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗮𝘁𝘀 💙
Last week, we marked a special moment for our colleague Wim. After 20 years at Maats Pipeline Professionals, he said goodbye to his working life and began a new chapter.

For Wim, this moment came earlier than expected. Due to physical limitations, he was no longer able to continue working. For someone who enjoys staying active and is passionate about his work and the people around him, stepping away is not easy.

It has been a gradual journey. Over time, Wim slowly reduced his working hours, with adjustments along the way to help make the transition as smooth as possible. Throughout this process, it was important to ensure that he would still have the opportunity to enjoy the things that matter to him outside of work.

Alongside the support we provided as an employer, Maats also arranged external guidance to help Wim prepare for each stage of this transition, from working fewer hours to eventually leaving employment altogether.

For many years, Wim also volunteered on behalf of Maats through the GOAL Foundation’s VrijMiGoal initiative. Through this initiative, we regularly visit older people experiencing loneliness in Goor, where our headquarters are based.

Through his involvement, Wim discovered just how rewarding volunteering can be. And that brings us to a particularly positive part of his story: although his working life at Maats has come to an end, his desire to contribute to others certainly hasn't.

Wim will continue volunteering in a similar role at a day activity centre near his home. A wonderful way to stay active, connect with others and keep making a meaningful difference.
At Maats, we believe that being a good employer also means supporting one another when life takes an unexpected turn. We are grateful that we could support Wim through this transition and help him look ahead to new possibilities.

We are grateful to Wim for his 20 years of commitment and dedication to Maats. We wish him all the best in this new chapter of his life.

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗲𝗯𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗿 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟴
At Maats, we continuously invest in both our people and our equipment.
This week, our technicians took a step ahead of the curve with an in-house training session delivered by Liebherr Construction at our Maats facilities. They gained valuable hands-on knowledge and insights into the new Generation 8 pipelayers, ensuring they're well-prepared for what's to come.

Although the next generation of Liebherr pipelayers is not due to be introduced until 2027, our technicians are already getting ready! And there's more exciting news: the first batch of Liebherr Generation 8 pipelayers for Maats is already in production!

Another great step in expanding and modernising our fleet, while making sure our team is ready for the future.

A big thanks to Liebherr for the valuable training and for sharing their expertise.

You can’t simply put a machine on a truck and send it on its way. Before any Maats machine begins its journey, a great deal has to happen behind the scenes. The transport documents need to be in order, the correct manuals must be included, the machine has to be thoroughly checked, and everything needs to be properly secured for transport.

It’s a part of the job that people don’t always see, but it matters just as much as the journey itself. Because when a machine leaves us, we want to know one thing for sure: it’s checked, secured and ready to get to work.

There’s something special about seeing a young team represent their country on the world stage with determination, teamwork and plenty of fighting spirit. A great week in Athens 🇬🇷

Back from this year’s IPLOCA Convention, we look back on a successful week spent with colleagues from across the pipeline industry.

It was great to catch up with familiar faces, meet new people and take the time to learn more about what others are working on. Conversations throughout the week offered fresh perspectives on our industry, the opportunities ahead and the future of pipeline construction.

We were proud to organise the Maats Golf Tournament and bring industry colleagues together in a relaxed setting. Thank you to everyone who joined us on the course for the great conversations and friendly competition! ⛳

With Athens as our backdrop, there was also time to enjoy Greek culture and hospitality together.

We return home with new insights, stronger connections and plenty of conversations to continue. Thank you to IPLOCA and everyone who helped make it such a valuable week.
