Running perforating guns in wells with control line cables or fiber optic lines pesents a real risk. One wrong shot can result in costly damage and downtime. We are proud to share that the Axter Real Time Scanner removes that uncertainty. 🌊

Using real-time ultrasound technology, the scanner accurately detects the position of control line cables and fiber optic lines in the annulus, giving operators full awareness before perforating. At the same time, it identifies the exact position of the tubing inside the casing, enabling optimal and safe perforation placement. 🎯

During a workover, pulling tubing from an oil well with control lines presents a well-known challenge. When the tubing is cut, the control lines may not be severed cleanly. Instead, they can break higher up in the well, creating a “bird’s nest” on top of the remaining tubing, which complicates operations and increases risk and time. 🌊

This issue can be effectively eliminated by using the Axter Retrieve Tool.

By running the Axter tool prior to cutting the tubing, the control lines are cleanly cut below the planned tubing cut point. This allows the upper section of tubing to be safely removed without loose or tangled control lines.

The result:
✅ Clean tubing retrieval
✅ No bird’s nesting
✅ Reduced operational risk
✅ A clean wellbore, ready for simpler and more efficient recompletion

Coiled Tubing Drilling (CTD) provides significant benefits for operators and oil companies by improving efficiency, reducing non-productive time, and enhancing well control through continuous circulation. Faster drilling and tripping without pipe connections also lead to lower operational costs and improved safety. 🌊

While milling an exit window in liner has traditionally been difficult and time consuming, Axter technology changes this. Using the Axter Lateral Miller, the exit window is efficiently milled while the required guide-stock is installed accurately at the same time. This significantly reduces both time and cost when preparing to drill into the formation. ⏰

In the last quarter, Axter, in collaboration with our partners and Tejas, completed a System Integration Test (SIT) in Macaé, Brazil, for major operators. ✅

Our role in the test was to locate and puncture the hydraulic bore of the TRSCSSV in preparation for the installation of an insert DHSV.

Using the Axter Real-Time Scanner, we precisely identified the orientation and vertical position of the hydraulic bore. 🎯

Then, with the Axter Lateral Miller (outfitted with a purpose-built 10 mm mill) we successfully penetrated the Inconel body and punctured the 5/8" (15.88 mm) hydraulic bore with precision.

Following our milling operation, Tejas completed the installation and testing of their FlowGuard insert DHSV.

This operation highlights the precision, efficiency, and collaborative strength of modern downhole technology. 💫 🙌

🇳🇴 Axter is partnering for progress in the North Sea! We collaborate with Havtil - Havindustritilsynet (the Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority) to help bring modern, efficient, and environmentally responsible solutions to well maintenance and plug & abandonment (P&A) operations.

Our ongoing dialogue with Havtil is part of a broader effort to support the industry in adopting smarter and more sustainable methods. 🌊

One example of this collaboration in action was at Havtil’s Plug & Abandonment Seminar in May 2025, where our Operations & Technical Manager, Svein Bjelland, presented Axter’s wireline-based technology.

By reducing operational time, cutting costs, and minimizing environmental impact, our solution aligns with Havtil’s ambition to raise the standard for well decommissioning on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and beyond.
