Delivering another major milestone at Stord

After years of engineering, fabrication, integration and commissioning, the Valhall PWP topside has been safely loaded onto the barge at our yard at Stord, marking a major milestone as the project moves into its next phase.

The topside has been delivered by Aker Solutions through the Fixed Facilities alliance with Aker BP and ABB. It will form a key part of the new Valhall Production and Wellhead Platform (PWP), enabling future production and operations at the Valhall field.

Weighing more than 17,500 tonnes, moving a structure of this size requires detailed planning, precision and collaboration across disciplines and locations. The load-out operation was carried out by in close cooperation with Aker Solutions.

This milestone reflects the dedication, expertise and teamwork of the thousands of people who have contributed to the project.

Congratulations to everyone involved in reaching this milestone. This is at its best.

That’s a four plus two in three and a half!

Today, the Hugin B topside sailed from our yard in Verdal, marking the completion of an extraordinary portfolio of projects delivered to Aker BP ASA.

Four steel jackets and two topsides delivered in three and a half years. 🚀

✅ 2024: Fenris jacket and pre-drilling module
✅ 2025: Valhall PWP and Hugin A jackets
✅ 2026: Hugin B jacket, Fenris and Hugin B topsides

All delivered safely and according to plan – a powerful example of what the Norwegian supplier industry can achieve through close collaboration.

The project portfolio has generated close to 3,500 man-years at the Verdal yard, with more than 130 apprentices contributing since 2022. It has also made it possible to invest in competence development, robotics, and digital tools.

Huge congratulations to everyone involved💪. And safe travels to Hugin B. 🚢

Contract alert – the White Rose story continues!

Great news from Canada: we’ve secured a new 5-year agreement with Cenovus for engineering and maintenance services offshore!

This builds on a long-standing partnership, as we’ve worked with Cenovus on the White Rose field for more than 20 years.

A recent milestone is the offshore hookup and commissioning of the new West White Rose platform, expected to begin production later this year.

So, what’s next?
🔹 Supporting the new West White Rose platform
🔹 Continuing work on the SeaRose FPSO
🔹 Delivering safe, predictable and cost-efficient operations

Around 120 colleagues, onshore and offshore, are ready to roll up their sleeves and contribute their expertise. 💪

Love is in the flare! ❤️

A proud day at Aker Solutions yard at Sandnessjøen when we load the 115-meter-long flare for Aker BP ASA’s Hugin A onto a ship and start sailing!

The flare is the final major piece that will be installed on the Hugin A topside that currently sits at our Stord yard.

The delivery is an excellent example of how different locations around Norway and other parts of the world have contributed to the massive Yggdrasil development in the North Sea.

Nuclear power: Exploring partnership with Rolls Royce SMR

Secure access to reliable and low carbon power is becoming increasingly critical.

Aker Solutions has signed a memorandum of understanding with Rolls Royce SMR to explore how our industrial capabilities can support the rollout of small modular reactors, with potential initial markets including the UK and the Czech Republic.

Our potential role would focus on non nuclear systems and module fabrication, building on decades of experience in modularisation, industrialisation and complex project ex*****on.

All nuclear technology, reactor design and licensing would remain with Rolls Royce SMR.

The collaboration highlights how established industrial expertise can be applied across evolving energy systems — and support energy transition.
