Hy5 is a Norwegian medtech company, bringing the world´s first hydraulic actuated hand prosthesis to the market. The passion driven innovation started with Jos Poirtes, a Dutch amusement park engineer, who worked with mechanical robotic dolls. He saw the potential for an hydraulic hand prosthesis, and brought the idea to Norway. Christian Fredrik Stray, CEO, and Poirtes started Hy5 in 2015, and now has over ten employees and a manufacturing plant at Raufoss.
The prosthesis is quality assured by SINTEF and is European approved and carries the CE mark.
