Do you need to be a programmer to join NASA Space Apps? Not at all.

This challenge is open to everyone - developers, designers, engineers, scientists, students, storytellers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and anyone who likes solving real problems. Some of the strongest teams aren't made up of just coders. They're a mix of people with different skills who come together and build something none of them could've built alone.

What is the NASA Space Apps Challenge?

It's the world's largest annual global hackathon, run by NASA and space agencies around the world. For one weekend, thousands of teams come together to solve real-world challenges using NASA's open data - everything from climate and Earth science to space exploration.

It's been running since 2012. Last year alone, over 114,000 people from 167 countries took part, forming more than 18,800 teams and submitting over 11,500 projects.

Teams build whatever they want, really apps, data visualizations, hardware concepts, even stories or games. There's no single "right" way to solve a challenge. That's kind of the point.

This year, it happens November 14–15, and Ghorahi is joining in for the first time.

More details on registration and challenges coming soon.
