Meet Sijan K.C. from Chitwan.
Born in Lamjung and now living in Bharatpur,Sijan is assigned to Balkumari English School, Narayangarh and Valmiki Shiksha Sadan. Though he never enjoyed studying from textbooks, his love for computers and technology inspired him to pursue IT. Today, he is a Bachelor's student and works as a web developer instead of going aboard.
Growing up with a teacher as a father, Sijan was inspired by the impact education can have on students' lives. Although he chose web development as his career path, he still wanted to contribute to education in a meaningful way. That's when he found Karkhana.
As a Regional Coordinator, Sijan gets to support teachers and help students experience science through hands-on learning activities. What makes this journey special for him isn't just the work it's the transformation he has experienced along the way.
"I used to be a backbencher who was afraid to speak in front of people," he shares. But through meeting teachers, talking with principals, distributing science kits, and interacting with students, he gradually built the confidence he once lacked. Today, he can comfortably stand in front of a room full of people and communicate without fear.
One thing Sijan values deeply about Karkhana is its culture of trust and collaboration. Instead of blaming people when challenges arise, everyone works together to find solutions. This environment encourages him to keep learning, growing, and giving his best.
Driven by curiosity, Sijan believes that learning happens most effectively through doing. His journey is a reminder that confidence isn't something you're born with it's something you build, one experience at a time.
Karkhana didn't just give Sijan an opportunity. It helped him discover a stronger, more confident version of himself.
