A reminder that lighting should be a considered aspect of your build, not an afterthought.

You don’t need to be stuck with downlights in a grid throughout your home to achieve good lighting. And in fact, rows of downlights placed in a grid throughout your home is not good lighting.

A well-considered lighting plan adds warmth, depth, and atmosphere to a space. It highlights details and changes the way a home feels, day to night.

If you do choose to use downlights, consider the fittings. Choose low glare, avoid picking the cheapest option, and remember that you often need less than you think.

The best spaces are the ones that feel good to be in, and lighting can make or break a space.

We love using spotlights for the way they add focus and depth to a space. They’re great for drawing attention to key features like artwork, architectural details or planting.

With adjustable heads and a clean, refined look, they work beautifully in both contemporary and classic settings. A simple way to highlight what matters and bring a space to life.

We love up-lights for the way they bring out the character of architectural materials. In this project, we used Hunza up-lights to graze the brickwork, casting low-angle light that highlights its texture and depth.
