We have been working on an increasing number of customised solutions for both new and repeat customers these past few months, with this purpose built enclosed trailer leaving us recently.

Equipped with a PVR GC Series Vacuum Pump / Booster unit with 1,400 M3/hr pumping speed and a Ceccato Compressor and Air Dryer, the Vacuum Trailer will provide the operator a valuable tool to work on new and already in service transformers for Commissioning and service work.

This was an interesting combination of systems to put together, where we worked alongside a number of leading suppliers to provide our customer with a high quality, simple to use tool.

A couple of weeks back, we were onsite with one of our customers in the North Island, working on a 12.5 MVA transformer that holds around 8,000 litres of oil.

They were having issues with high moisture content in the oil and paper, which can cause problems with insulation and overall performance.

They are using their TDOS 2000 HV to remove these issues and reduce moisture to safe levels. We were on site to support the commissioning process as it was their first time operating on an energised transformer.

A successful day, with great results now being achieved.

Our partners across Hong Kong and China were out in stifling heat & humidity earlier this week assisting a leading Electrical Utility company install one of their TDOS units on a transformer with high moisture content.

With increased load on the transformer due to higher local demand, the TDOS was installed to proactively reduce total moisture content in the oil and paper prior to the transformer cooling down.

The concern was the subsequent impact on the insulating oils dielectric capability, which would decrease when the relative saturation (RS%) increases in line with a decrease in oil temperature.
There is a direct inverse relation between RS% and oil dielectric: a point of significant concern for wet transformers - hence the need for an effective moisture management plan.

This install also provided a show-and-tell opportunity, with a number of interested regional Utility and Industrial customers on site to see the Trojan in operation first hand.

We work heard to support our customers across the globe, and the reward comes in the form of repeat orders.
On this occasion we’re sending out another two sets of Trojan OMS Carts to our customer in East Asia, a leading service contractor in the region.

This will bring their total number of Carts to four, which are all deployed for use on transformers in underground locations, such as subway systems.

For their original Cart, we worked in tandem with the customer to modify our standard design to suit their unique operating environments. As a result, not only have they proven very successful in reducing moisture content in a large number of transformers, they also meet the customers operational requirements perfectly.
