We are excited to announce that is now Trojans’ official Representative across the Southeastern region of the US, specifically covering North Carolina; South Carolina, Georgia; Mississippi; Alabama and Florida.

NTS have extensive experience in the Utility market, having been representing Industry leading manufacturers since 1984.
Their strong industry relationships and extensive territory coverage – developed through a large external and internal Sales team – will provide Trojan with the ability to continue our growth in the US Market.

One of our recently dispatched oil purification units (Trojan HVPS 6000) with a flow rate of 6,000lph / 1,600 gph was put straight to use in Australia processing Midel 7131 from 1,000l totes into 9,000l portable offshore tanks.

The Trojan and 63,000l of processed oil are being transported via barge to an offshore platform to service transformers used in the extraction of natural gas.

The experienced crew appreciated the Trojan’s standard inclusions - PLC automation & large HMI screen; a flow meter with totaliser & batch counter; remote communications; and multiple stages of filtration with easy change out.
Customised features included additional oil heating and a larger capacity vacuum pump / booster set.

The Trojan crew always enjoy hearing of the interesting locations our systems get to, and this is certainly one of them!

This is a Trojan TDOS 2000HV online, unattended oil filtration system attached to a large, critical transformer in California.

The Transformer remained energised during the process of connecting and commissioning the Trojan, as an outage would have needed to be booked months in advance.

Training for a new crew & commissioning of the Trojan were completed by early afternoon. Within the next couple of transformers, the crew will have this process down to just a couple of hours onsite.

The Trojan was installed on this transformer because regular DGA sampling had shown excessively high levels of moisture.

Was the transformer “wet”? Not really.
Real time, online moisture sampling performed by the Trojan showed oil Relative Saturation to be less than 5% at 43 deg C oil temperature.

But that’s a (commonly occurring) story for another day…

However, the transformer owner now accurately understands the true level of moisture contamination of this transformer, providing significant peace of mind and the ability to continue uninterrupted operation.

The last stop on our recent trip through the US was to a Public Utility District in Washington State to provide onsite training on a TDOS 2000HV unit that had arrived earlier in the week.

This is the Utilities first occasion using an oil filtering unit on an energised transformer, and the TDOS was put to work immediately on a transformer with known gassing issues.

Training involved a large group of very interested Operators, with all aspects of operating and maintaining their new unit covered.

By early afternoon, training was complete and the Trojan was left to operate unattended and complete it’s work. Follow up oil sampling showed that the Trojan had reduced all combustible gases, including Hydrogen, down to baseline levels within a short period.

The Trojan was soon after moved onto the 2nd transformer in the substation to repeat the process.

From being unwrapped to up an operating in a few hours, it was a pretty good effort.

We have been working on an increasing number of customised solutions for both new and repeat customers these past few months, with this purpose built enclosed trailer leaving us recently.

Equipped with a PVR GC Series Vacuum Pump / Booster unit with 1,400 M3/hr pumping speed and a Ceccato Compressor and Air Dryer, the Vacuum Trailer will provide the operator a valuable tool to work on new and already in service transformers for Commissioning and service work.

This was an interesting combination of systems to put together, where we worked alongside a number of leading suppliers to provide our customer with a high quality, simple to use tool.
