Custom 8-piston brake calipers for UC Motorsport, the University of Canterbury Formula SAE team.

These are based on our KAHA caliper, redesigned and manufactured to suit the car. Working with the team takes me back to my days on the Auckland team, University of Auckland Formula SAE Team. Late nights, tight deadlines, and a lot of learning.

Great to support the next generation of engineers. Good luck to the team at comp in Australia later this year.

The easiest brake upgrade.

One of the simplest ways to improve your braking is the disc itself. The Heavy Duty Brake Disc gives you more steel and more leverage in a straight 6-bolt swap.

Compared with a stock 1.8mm, 180mm disc:
Up to 28% more steel (2.3mm vs 1.8mm)
13–24% more leverage (203mm or 223mm vs 180mm)

Check your frame and fork's maximum disc size, and the adaptor you need, before going up a size.

Why 2.3mm?

Our Heavy Duty Disc is 2.3mm thick. The extra steel sits close to the braking surface, drawing heat away from where the pads grip. That keeps the braking surface cooler and your braking consistent from the top of the run to the bottom.

That's about 28% more steel than a 1.8mm disc, and 15% more than a 2.0mm disc.

Because the material is placed where it does the most work, the discs aren't much heavier than standard ones: 169g (180mm), 193g (203mm) and 223g (223mm).

Consistent braking on long descents

Long descents put a lot of heat into your brakes. A thin disc heats up fast and its braking surface reaches much higher temperatures, and that's when pads glaze and braking power drops off.

Our Heavy Duty Disc is 2.3mm thick, with more steel to absorb that heat. That's about 15% more steel than a standard 2.0mm disc. Allowing your brakes to operate more consistantly, for longer periods.

NEW: Radic Sintered Brake Pads

Our organic pads have earned a big following for their instant bite and quiet, controlled feel. Now we're adding a sintered compound to the range.

Sintered pads are made from metal particles fused under heat and pressure. They're built for heat, wet and long days: consistent power on long alpine descents, strong wet and mud performance, and extended pad life.

Organic pads are still the go-to for most riders: strong cold bite, quiet operation and quick, easy bed-in. They're used and trusted across trail, enduro, DH and e-MTB.

Which should you run?
Mostly dry riding, and you want feel and quiet: Organic
Wet winters, big mountain days, or you want pads to last longer: Sintered

Both compounds use the Hope V4 shape. They fit Radic KAHA and brakes built around the Hope V4 pad, and come as a pair with a separation spring.

The Titanium 3D Printed Lever Kit is a premium upgrade designed to increase durability, improve adjustability, and enhance rider control.

Manufactured from titanium using advanced metal additive manufacturing, these levers offer substantially greater strength and impact resistance than the original 7075-T6 aluminium levers. The result is a lever built to withstand the demands of aggressive riding while maintaining precise and consistent brake feel.

The lever geometry has been refined with a revised leverage ratio curve, delivering improved modulation and a more progressive feel through the stroke. This provides greater control at the limit of traction and increased confidence on technical terrain.

A redesigned tool-free adjustment k**b, allows riders to quickly fine-tune lever position.

Further refinements include a wider lever blade and integrated grip hole pattern, improving finger contact and control in wet, muddy, and demanding riding conditions.

Kevlar hose compatibility confirmed.
Kaha brakes are fully compatible with 5mm diameter kevlar brake hoses — ideal for lightweight applications and upside-down forks.

Our standard titanium hose fittings work directly with kevlar hose and remain fully reusable, with no olives or consumable parts required.

The larger internal bore of kevlar hose slightly reduces hydraulic resistance, contributing to a lighter lever feel. Due to the hose construction, expansion is typically around 10–20% higher than our stainless braided hose, resulting in a slightly softer overall lever feel.

Specific hoses including Shimano BH90 and the Trickstuff Beta Kevlar Hose have been tested and provide the best results. We’ll also have our own high oressure kevlar hose option available on the website shortly.
