Welder / Fabricator

Red Stag Engineering – Gisborne

Red Stag Engineering is a busy small engineering workshop specialising in heavy equipment repairs, maintenance, welding and fabrication.

We are looking for a reliable Welder / Fabricator to join our team. We are open to experienced heavy fabricators as well as capable general welders/fabricators who are keen to develop their skills.

The role

The work is varied, with no two days being the same. You could be working on:

* Heavy equipment repairs and modifications
* Structural and general fabrication
* Heavy machinery repairs and attachments
* Welding and fabrication of components
* On-site repairs and maintenance
* Cutting, drilling, fitting and general workshop work
* Reading drawings and working from measurements
* Working independently and as part of a small team

What we’re looking for

Ideally you will have:

* Good MIG and stick welding skills
* The ability to weld in various positions
* Good fabrication and fitting skills
* The ability to read drawings and work from measurements
* Good mechanical ability
* A practical, problem-solving attitude
* The ability to work safely and independently
* A Class 1 driver’s licence
* Pride in producing quality workmanship

Heavy fabrication experience is an advantage, but the right attitude and willingness to learn are also important.
